Requested move (2009)

The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was Do not move. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 18:12, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Shinee → SHINee - Per MOS:TM, SHINee is in more general usage, as seen in their album, The SHINee World's album cover. Mydoctor93 (talk) 11:12, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Oppose: Rule #3 of MOS:TM - Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules even if the trademark owner considers nonstandard formatting "official". (Moon) and (Sunrise) 11:19, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Comment: Rule #7 of MOS:TM - Trademarks in CamelCase are a judgement call. CamelCase may be used where it reflects general usage and makes the trademark more readable. SHINee should probably be considered as CamelCase. Mydoctor93 (talk) 12:33, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Comment: According to the page this is what a CamelCase is: the uppercase "bumps" in the middle of the compound word. And looking at the examples on the page, SHINee doesn't fall under it. (Moon) and (Sunrise) 12:55, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Comment: Generally, editors should follow the MOS, but there's always the occasional exception in which ignoring a rule would improve an article. In SHINee's case, turning all the "SHINee"s into "Shinee"s would rather cause confusion among web surfers who come across the article, who have been considering the group's name as "SHINee". Mydoctor93 (talk) 13:42, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Comment: It's the exact same thing expect the H and I and N are lowercase. Simply putting Shinee (symbolized as SHINee) would clear any "confusion". (Moon) and (Sunrise) 13:56, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Oppose WP:MOSTM is clear in this case. "SHINee" is nothing more than a stylistic choice by the band and not one we should oblige. TJ Spyke 19:59, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Oppose per above; nobody has yet presented any reason why it's important to discard MOS:TM in this particular case. In the absence of any reason to ignore the rule, we might as well keep following it. --Quuxplusone (talk) 00:01, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Oppose for same reasons already outlined above. --DAJF (talk) 02:04, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Oppose. MOS:TM's rule #7 says CamelCase, not CAMELcase. — 3247 (talk) 20:22, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Profiles

Regarding the section on the members, perhaps it should be changed back to the "profiles in a table" format? It may be just me but I think it looks more clean and organised that way. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.101.36.24 (talk) 18:18, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

It looks organized as it is. (Moon) and (Sunrise) 18:30, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps, may I suggest adding Minho and Taemin's nicknames? I believe that they are neccessary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.101.36.24 (talk) 19:38, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

I added Minho's nickname. I'm not adding Taemin as it is mention he is the youngest. (Moon) and (Sunrise) 19:49, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Can someone explain to me why nicknames are necessary? I've constantly deleted them in the past as it falls under WP:TRIVIA. It's different than a stage name (say, "Key" or any TVXQ or Big Bang (band) member), and none of them are known by their nicknames. Minho is called "Minho", Jonghyun "Jonghyun", etc. SKS2K6 (talk) 20:01, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
They refer to each other by those nicknames, sometimes. They did it frequently in their show and sometimes when they are introducing themselves. Also, they are known by those names by their fans. (Moon) and (Sunrise) 20:24, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Even if they used it on their TV show, I still think that this kind of info belongs on fansites and other places, but not here, unless mainstream media refers to them as such. SKS2K6 (talk) 20:29, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
I agree with you. I'll remove them and add a hidden note about adding them. (Moon) and (Sunrise) 20:56, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
I agree with SKS2K6 too... Plus all Shinee members have lots of nicknames, mostly Korean nicknames, which are very likely to be hard for speakers of other languages to grasp. Also, Wikipedia is not a fansite. kata1207

the prose in the member profile section is awkward and cumbersome. it's better to section off the stats and leave the prose for other additional information so as to present a cleaner format. they're currently lumped all together in one paragraph which is hard to read and process. it'll look neater too. the information is essentially the same and yes, this is considered organisation. i don't understand why my edits have to be reverted. Liquidwax (talk) 05:47, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Your suggestion is not better. All of the information has to be written in paragraph form. It may be a little awkward but it isn't hard to process the information written there. Rather than trying to make stats why not try to rewrite the section? And it is explained in the edit summary why your edits were reverted. MS (Talk|Contributions) 10:49, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Stats would be difficult to keep clean because they're prone to have users add trivia and unsourced details. The way that it's currently written is clean and concise and fully sourced. I don't see how it's cumbersome, so would you be able to explain why you see it that way? Thanks in advance. SKS (talk) 16:57, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

i may be mistaken, but i have never come across any article which claims onew as the lead vocalist, so please provide a proper link stating his position in shinee because the one that has been provided leads to the homepage of msn. 175.138.124.144 (talk) 05:14, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

About the picture

The photo being used right now isn't up to date. SHINee has different concepts every time they promote a new song. And the current picture isn't matching with their Lucifer concept and their faces are hard to distinguish. Would some one please change it? It doesn't have to match with their concept, just showing all their faces clearly would be fine. Rainbowgrl0703 (talk) 06:32, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

We can only use images whose copyright has been released under the proper Creative Commons or other free use license. Active Banana (talk) 11:38, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

[shinee] Here's an image of Shinee at a fansigning and should not have any copyright issues. Hope some one can change the picture soon. While this picture is not of the Lucifer concept, I believe that this picture is of a timeless sort. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.130.252.150 (talk) 03:37, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

About the songs' names

We need to edit these Nunan Neomu Yeppeo and Sanso Gateun Neo(The English romanization, or something like that) into 누난 너무 예뻐 and 산소 같은 너(The original Korean name). As far as I know, no other Korean album has songs in names like that. RageAgainstTheWikiMachine (Pen name of Mydoctor93) 13:04, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

If you're talking about separate articles, see Hanbeon deo, OK?. But if you're talking about tracklistings and stuff like that...it's a gray area. I do believe that official policy is to leave them intact, but I wouldn't really know. SKS2K6 (talk) 16:06, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Copy-edit comments

I'm not sure how this is normally done, but since there was a request at the copyeditors' wikiproject, I figured it was the logical place to leave my response!

The first sentence of the history section needs work, but since I neither understand Korean nor know about the topic, I don't know how to rewrite it. "Not much was known about Shinee until late May 2008 when articles started to surface online about SM Entertainment's new group." - Does this mean a new band from SM was expected/rumored prior to late May 2008? Some context is needed, or just remove the "not much was known" bit as superfluous.

Was the MNET performance some sort of Internet broadcast? When I read "on MNET's M! Countdown" it 0conjures images of Total Request Live-esque shows, but the next sentence talks about their TV debut.

Define "Mutizen", whether it has a meaning in Korean or some other explanation of what the award is for. For all I know, winning the award on Popular Songs could be for most overrated. :)

When it talks about "Sa. Gye. Han" and the other new songs, we get the Korean characters but not their meaning - unless the English in parentheses is the meaning. If that's the case, it's confusing because of the way the previous songs were explained, e.g. "(산소 같은 너 (Love Like Oxygen), lit. You Like Oxygen)".

Other than that, the article seems fine. What issues led you to suggest a GA review? Maybe we can work it out. I'm sorry. I'm new to Wikipedia, and I had interpreted "GA review" to be analogous to "Featured Article Review" where they're nominated for removal from the FA category. Anyway, outside those suggestions it sounds good to me. Recognizance (talk) 21:16, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Too be honesty I really don't know that much about the group myself. I just saw that the page was didn't have a lot of sources (at the time it only had two sources) and just started to edit and add sources for what was there. But anyway um, about the first section it was there when I started to edit so I decided to leave it. I changed it to "In late May 2008 news articles started to surface online about SM Entertainment's new group, Shinee."

The MNET's M! Countdown is a televised show, it's like TRL but instead of music videos being playing every five seconds, artists perform. I think I'll remove that though.

I think it's like fan choice or something, I don't know.

"Sa. Gye. Han" is 사.계.한 romanized but as for a translation when I put it through google I get "4.Total.A". I don't want to add that because I'm pretty sure it's not right. I'll ask a Wiki editor that knows Korean.

It's cool about the GA review thing. ~Moon~~Sunrise~ 22:00, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Alright, then as far as grammar and pure readability it's fine. In the GA process they might mention the sections other than history are relatively short, because I've noticed that sections made up of a few sentences are sometimes frowned upon. It might be fine though. Only one way to find out! Good luck. Recognizance (talk) 23:41, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Thank you. ~Moon~~Sunrise~ 23:51, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

they need to be edited it looks badly and now they got another award at Singapore —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.58.108.37 (talk) 01:42, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Do you have a source to prove they won the award? MS (Talk|Contributions) 19:34, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
Bring back their other awards. Don' erase their awards. Madz76 (Talk|Contributions) 17:26, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

The most recent awards they received this January 2011 at Seoul Music Award is listed wrong. It's the 20th Seoul Music Award not the 19th Seoul Music Award. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.148.26.118 (talk) 18:39, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Solo articles

Seriously, Key needs a solo article. He had done so many projects outside Shinee. Madz76 (Talk|Contributions) 16:09, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Prove what he has done. The only thing I see is him being featured on other artists works. Which does not mean he should have his own article. MS (Talk|Contributions) 10:31, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
Key hasn't made any solo ventures- so I don't see what he has done to warrant an article. + ThermoNuclear 18:24, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
If you think that Key needs a solo article, then dont add it in the SHINee article, instead start a new article. Its like almost all 13 members of the South Korean boy band Super Junior have their separate articles and they are the labelmates of SHINee. The point is that you need enough sources and citation to PROVE whatever you right about him and pictures should not be on restricted copyrighted and bla bla (You know what I mean here). But REMEMBER songs sang by SHINee cannot be categorized as songs sang by Key alone. They will remain a property of SM entertainment :( Thanks in advance. Farjad0322 30 April 2010

SHINee's debut song is not called "Older Girl, You're So Pretty (Replay)", it's "You're So Pretty (Replay)".

Duplicative information in discography

Please show some evidence that information contained in a YEAR column is not entirely duplicated by information in a RELEASE DATE, thus making a seperate YEAR column entirely unnecessary. Active Banana (talk) 12:15, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, even the discography sections of Britney Spears or Michael Jackson are not this much detailed. Stuff like SALES and RELEASE DATES should be written in a separate discography article rather than in the main SHINee article. Only YEAR and NAME of album should be written in the main article. I suggest to remove the table entirely and bring previous style back. I will need 80% votes to do that. Farjad0322 (talk) 13:11, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Under KISS, for such currently limited content and ease of editing for those (like me) who struggle with the complexity of the Table mark-up code, I support bulleted list mode. The overwhelming desire at Wikipedia for everything to be placed into tables baffles me. Active Banana (talk) 14:00, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Farjad, I moved the contents of the discography article (minus the track listings) to the discography section (in this and this edit) because the discography article was not nearly large enough to need its own article. In truth, there is no requirement or recommendation for discographies of artists to have their own sections unless that are much too large for the main artist article, like Ayumi Hamasaki discography and The Beatles discography. However, that is not the case for the Shinee discography, as the full discography contains few releases and little information. The MOS:MUSIC recommendation states that "If the discography of an artist, group or work becomes disproportionately large in relation to the rest of the article, it should be split into a subpage list (preferably titled "<Name> discography")." Also on a side note, concerning track listings, the general consensus is that they should not be included anywhere but the articles of the albums/singles themselves. So because the Shinee discography no longer has its own article, in the discography section here, we should no longer follow this discography section recommendation which assumes there is a discography article and encourages using simple bullet points to list album releases, but instead we should follow the guidelines in MOS:DISCOG, which encourages listing releases in tables and more information, like sales, chart position, and certificate information to be included. Now as for the year issue, of course it's duplicate information. I never argued that "2005" for example has nothing to do with a specific date in that year. But by adding the years, we are able to group releases to show the activity of a group in each year, whether it's releasing just one album in a year or many. It's a nice organizational addition which is encouraged in MOS:DISCOG (see this section) and is used in just about every featured discography even when the full release date is shown right under the album title, including Madonna albums discography, Lily Allen discography, Opeth discography, Santigold discography, Sigur Rós discography, Sophie Ellis-Bextor discography, Lostprophets discography, The Strokes discography, Trivium discography, Tokio Hotel discography, Natalie Imbruglia discography, Metallica discography, Maroon 5 discography, Goldfrapp discography, Disturbed discography, and many more listed here. In fact, I can't even find one featured discography that does not include both the year on the left side and the full release date under the album name. エムエックスさん 15:52, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Whao! :O How long did it take to write all of this above? Anyhow, I was only suggesting to bring back the bullet system because its clean, easier to manage and simple to understand. But now I agree, YEAR column should be added for the purpose of monitoring year by year progress of the group. I have noticed f(x), Super Junior and Girls' Generation have their separate discography articles. Howcome nobody has never made it so far for Shinee. I usually dont edit Shinee article because I want it to remain a GOOD article - which is hard to achieve in the first place. By the way, is the 'number of SALES of EPs and albums' thing sourced? And also according to schedule board on official site of Shinee, it is mentioned that a new album will be released in second week of July 2010. So lets keep our eyes open for upcoming horde of fandom AND vandalism. LOL Farjad0322 (talk) 19:18, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
I moved f(x)'s discography article contents back to the main f(x) article as well a while ago because it was also not large enough, but Super Junior and Girls' Generation still have their own discography articles because they have dozens of releases with extensive information on them, while Shinee and f(x) have smaller discographies that don't take up much space on the main article. Remember again, it's an issue of article size. Moving those full discographies back to the artist's articles would make them too large (see WP:SIZERULE; for reference, the Shinee article is 25 KB). No the sales numbers are not sourced...which is a problem. If the title is not yet announced on the album, we can still include information about it in the "2009: Return to the music scene" with sources. エムエックスさん 20:56, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
I actually enjoy filling this space up without any reason. Haha. Well, so then its decided that we should bring back the YEAR column in the discography section of main article. Right? Farjad0322 (talk) 21:40, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
I guess so, unless Active Banana has something to say about it. エムエックスさん 21:47, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Okay! I redid the whole thing, somewhat making it more complex to edit but easier to understand as a reader :S. But a question arises about the repackage version of 1st studio album: that is AMIGO. And also we need to state that the number of copies sold are that of South Korea only or international. Farjad0322 (talk) 22:34, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that really depends on finding a source for the sales numbers and figuring out from that if it's only South Korea or internationally. I don't think SHINee has any international releases anyway though. For Amigo, maybe we could add it to a compilations section and make a note that it is a repackaged version of The Shinee World. I have a question though, why did you define the width and alignment in so many cells? I think it would be better not to define any width and have it just stretch out depending on the length of text in a cell. エムエックスさん 00:01, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Hmm! I only inspired the whole thing from other discography articles so I thought it would be that way. But yeah widths should not be defined for sake ease at editing in future. The Girls Generation article mentioned the repackaged albums under a separate heading. Farjad0322 (talk) 12:53, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I added Amigo to a Compilation section and removed the widths. How does it look? エムエックスさん 15:43, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Looks fine! I will put the name of AMIGO in Shinee template like "The Shinee World/Amigo". It is present in Girls Generation template where it is like "Oh!/Run Devil Run". It makes more sense I guess. Not necessary though. Lets end this here. I am excited because my parents are gonna get me a new computer from Dubai XD. Dont know which model though. GA status reassessment

I am sending this article for a reassessment today. Too many edits have been done by unregistered users (more accurately, fans). They also have changed the general layout without discussing before. Despite warnings, it continues to happen so. I am going to involve the WikiProject Entertainment with this article in a three days time when I am done collecting opinions about a general layout. Farjad0322 (talk) 09:02, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

A few waves of bad edits should not mean that this article needs to be reassessed. I think I just fixed everything that went wrong with this article these past few days, including reverting the discography, fixing the awards section, restoring the old order of sections, reverting back to the prose-based members section, etc, so it should be fine for now. On a related note, I'm thinking of removing the sales numbers for the albums/EPs because their lack of references interferes with GA criteria 2b. Would anyone have a problem with that? エムエックスさん 06:13, 20 July 2010 (UTC) Oh also, where did you list the article for reassessment? I don't see it on WP:GAR. エムエックスさん 06:16, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
I was going to list it but I didn't because the WikiProject Musicians is not pretty active these days. You gave the article its original shape. I did same thing few times and everytime unregistered users (fans) come back with their own ideals. So, this article would require serious checking (at least after every hour)...Behold! the RAFT of FANDOM!...And yeah the sales part should be removed...because no body has been able to put any source for a week now and it does interfere with GA criteria...Thanks God! the members section is back to normal again...it began to look like a pokemon trivia recently :S... Farjad0322 (talk) 08:02, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Birthdays

A continuous trend in edits of this article is associated with birthdays of SHINee members. They are generally unsourced and hence cannot be placed in the article. Birthdays are placed in other articles like Girls' Generation. My concern is that, if the official website of Shinee has mentioned their birthdays, this is a source enough for this article. Since official website is, in fact, the primary source for this article. Question is should we place birthdays or not? Let's make it final. Farjad0322 (talk|contribs) 05:50, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

  • No. There is no need whatsoever for this kind of information, certainly not in the article for the group. Drmies (talk) 15:15, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

'Shinee' versus 'SHINee' in regards to names of albums, songs, events etc.

I would like to make an inquiry about whether the stylization 'SHINee' is acceptable to use for albums names, song titles, names of events, etc. For example, their album 'The Shinee World' is clearly labled as 'The SHINee World' but instead is not correctly sytilized. I think it would be less confusing if we did not implement WP:MOSTM rules. I do not think that SHINee should be stylized as 'Shinee' for the afformentioned names and titles.

If the names of the albums, songs, events etc. must adhere to WP:MOSTM rules then can an edit please be made that mentions the correct stylization. e.g. "The Shinee World (styalized as: The SHINee World)"

Thanks.

GA Reassessment

This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Shinee/GA2. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.

Rationale

When this article became a GA it was very different from today's version. I have problems with that version in the first place, and with the GA review, which the word "cursory" doesn't really describe very well.

Right now, the article has become a fansite like so many of the K-pop articles, and does not deserve GA status. The fan-aspect of it is evident from the plethora of trivia: every single announcement is listed, every concert performance is documented, et cetera. The prose is no more than pedestrian. Some examples:

  • "They have also won many awards" (from the lead)
  • "On March 8, 2012 the teaser photos of the members were revealed, starting with Minho and ending with Jonghyun on March 12.[61][62] On March 18, 2012 a teaser for Shinee's "Sherlock" music video was released on SM Entertainment's YouTube channel."
  • "On the same day, a repackage album of The Shinee World titled Amigo was released. The re-packaged album contained three new songs: "Forever or Never", a remix of "Sa. Gye. Han (Love Should Go On)" (사.계.한) and the promotional single "Amigo" (아.미.고).[17] "Amigo" is a shortened version of the Korean phrase "Areumdaun Minyeorueljoahamyeon Gosaenghanda" (아름다운 미녀를 좋아하면 고생한다 lit. Heart Aches When You Fall In Love With a Beauty).[13]" (The Shinee World has an article where this sort of detail, if it is necessary in the first place, can be listed--in fact, it's there in the lead. Note faulty grammar.)
  • "On November 18, 2011, It was announced Onew, Key, and Taemin would release book about their travels in Barcelona, Spain, becoming the first Korean idols to ever author a "vacation guide". They created a collection of their travels and titled their guide, Son of the Sun. The book was released on December 8, 2011.[52]" (Note again the typical ESL problems with grammar and prepositions, which currently are found all over the article.)

A few individual examples may not give a full indication of how bloated this article is. Many of these factoids are sourced to unreliable sources like Allkpop, a portal/news site in which I have no confidence whatsoever. For this travel book, for instance, the source is this, which appears to be nothing more than a regurgitated press release--perhaps not even chewed before it was spewed out. It is hard to tell whether these are the efforts of dedicated fans with more love for their idols than knowledge of Wikipedia; I'm beginning to suspect, after running through a couple of dozen such articles, that the management of S.M. Entertainment has found its way to Wikipedia. The template "S.M. Entertainment" and articles such as Yoo Young-jin (unverified, for a company executive) suggest this as well.

At any rate, the current state of the article is that it's a fansite (or a promotional vehicle), its sources are not up to GA snuff, the prose is poor, and it's bloated with trivia. I think this should be delisted. For now I'm refraining from putting a "fansite" tag on it because it still has a green star, but I think such a tag and removal of the star is more than justified. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 15:31, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

It has a lot of fanbased(WP:Fancruft) information and needs to be kept neutral(WP:NPOV) as it is very heavily biased towards the group itself. It may have a lot of information on the group but half of the material there is unsourced and relies heavily on fan's perspective/opinion about the group. Any update on the progress of this reassessment? AIRcorn (talk) 08:57, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
Yep: I have no choice but to demote it, since no one is coming to this article's defense. I note also that this isn't the first time these concerns are raised; see above, "GA status reassessment". Drmies (talk) 03:00, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

ShineeSHINee – Wikipedia lists the South Korean K-pop group Shinee with small letters according to the no "unnecessary capitalization" rule. But the band's proper stage name is "SHINee" and many other respectable sources including The New Yorker, The Associated Press, ITN News, MTV, The New York Times, etc, have used "SHINee" instead of "Shinee". Wikipedia:MOSTM is a rigid rule that should not apply to bands and musicians, see the discussion at will.i.am's article. -A1candidate (talk) 19:06, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

  • Oppose. Same position as I have with Talk:Exo (band) - per previous discussion above including Wikipedia:MOSTM and formal rules of English writing. Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules, even if the trademark owner considers nonstandard formatting "official," as long as this is a style already in use, rather than inventing a new one Evaders99 (talk) 21:07, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose per #Requested move (2009), and MOS:TM,MOS:CAPS - it is unnecessary capitalization. -- 70.24.248.246 (talk) 22:28, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose per WP:MOSTM, which does apply to bands since they say to use "Kiss" and not "KISS," so it should be kept at Shinee per previous discussions. Aspects (talk) 22:29, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose. Wikipedia does not recognize all caps in the cases solely where they are for stylization purposes. — ξxplicit 01:25, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose nothing has changed since the last move and none of the exceptions for capitalization apply here (it, not cammelcase,SHIN not pronounced as individual letters, not an acronym, etc). Also no evidence that the MOSTM can't apply to bands of musicians (the fact that the MOSTM itself specifically mentions the band Kiss strongly implies that it does). Even it did not apply WP:ALLCAPS would and that does not support this move either.--174.95.109.77 (talk) 05:05, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Support (despite wanting badly to oppose) - as repulsive as "SHINee" looks, unfortunately it should be noted that this horrible eyesore of a band name is actually found in the only 3 remotely reliable-ish sources on Google Books: Sun Jung Korean Masculinities and Transcultural Consumption 2011 Page 164 "Unlike the pre-existing Korean idol boy bands — e.g., SS501, TVXQ, SHINee, Super Junior — who practically emphasize their pretty boy (kkonminam) features, 2PM, from the beginning, claims to be a tough, manly, and beast-like idol group." (2) Tai-hoon Kim, Hojjat Adeli, William I. Grosky Multimedia, Computer Graphics and Broadcasting 2012 Page 158 "..has showed the factors of the success and the limit of Korean Wave. The performance of Korean idol groups such as Girls' Generation, Super Junior, SHINee and so on has been held in 'Le Zenith de Paris'," (3) Hana Yoo and Elizabeth Shim Seoul Sweet Seoul "SHINee is a five member pop group consisting of Onew (leader), Jong-Hyun, Key, Min-Ho and Tae-Min." Ugh, fortunately looks like no one else supports this RM. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:57, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose as per MOS:TM, Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules, even if the trademark owner considers nonstandard formatting "official". For what it's worth I don't agree with will.i.am being at that title, but that's not a reason to change this title as per Wikipedia:Other stuff exists. Zarcadia (talk) 20:14, 30 December 2012 (UTC)

Adding 'Dream Girl' info?

There is more information about the new album (especially choreography, how the album works with the 2 parts and a tracklist). This was all released on a special Melon event. This may be added? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lstarnation (talkcontribs) 00:21, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
