Shigeo Suga and Shikao Suga
editDoes anyone besides me think Shigeo Suga and Shikao Suga are pretty much the same people? Shigeo Suga is pretty much known for doing Boogiepop Phantom's theme song, "Yuudachi". Yet, if you research into the name Shigeo Suga, you will find virtually no information on "Shigeo" Suga. Also, animenewsnetwork.com has merged the Shigeo Suga article into the Shikao Suga and has him listed doing both Honey and Clover songs and Boogiepop Phantom's Yuudachi (Ctrl+F Suga). And most of all, well, if you listen to the two, they sound exactly the same... --unsigned
- It's likely that whoever uploaded the song that you downloaded made a mistake of typing Shigeo Suga instead of Suga Shikao. Bad ID3 tagging must be rampant in the world of piracy. —Tokek 01:33, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Night Stories
editI was reading up on Suga Shikao and noticed that Night Stories, the show he is hosting, seemed to have ended in Japan. This is based on the Japanese entry for this show and the last podcast entry for Night Stories Monday was on April 4th of this year . Can the "currently" then be removed?Ybanez 19:32, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Suga Shikao vs. Shikao Suga
editThere seems to be a fairly strict rule about name ordering at WP:MOS-JA. However, pseudonyms seems to be an exception (in the WP:MOS-JA#Pseudonyms section), however that section seems to implicitly state that name order non-switching is still not allowed, even if the pseudonym does not encorporate switching. It's a bit bothersome to think that some articles have to add inaccuracy and non-used usage (e.g. Shikao Suka) in order to adhere to Wikipedia policy. For example if the iPod article had to be spelled "Ipod" by policy, then I would have to state in the article: "Ipod (actually known as iPod)..." which seems to needlessly elongate and confuse things. —Tokek 01:33, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- I don't really see how "Suga Shikao" counts as an actual pseudonym. As I see it, the only difference is that he chose to write his name with katakana instead of kanji, not what his name is. You'll see the same thing with Hiroto Kōmoto (granted, he only chose katakana for his given name, not his family name). When he was mentioned in the American press in the early 1990s, he name was switched from the Japanese order. Douggers (talk) 06:25, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I agree with the move. Can you prove that he doesn't use kanji outside his recording artist life? If not, then I'd certainly consider it a pseudonym. A lot of Japanese people (especially women) write their name in kana instead of kanji, but they don't do it for their given name, which is why I think this is a special case. --Wirbelwindヴィルヴェルヴィント (talk) 03:20, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
