editSome possible sources:
- Biography of Louis Shickluna in the bulletin of the Toronto Marine Historical Society. Historical societies are volunteer-run and don't have the oversight of a research journal, so generally not a high-quality reliable source.
- He Built 120 Ships Toronto Telegram (webhosted at Maritime History of the Great Lakes). Same text as the source used in the article, but also has a photograph with caption.
- Mighty Maltese of Shipman's Corner another Toronto Telegram article, this from 1947.
- Papa of Plenty Toronto Telegram 1947.
- Shickluna's Ships had Long Lives Toronto Telegram 1948
- Shickluna's Latest Launch St Catherines Constitutional 1864
- brief article Daily British Whig on drydock expansion, 1881
- Obituary Notes – A Prince Among Shipbuilders in the Mail (Toronto)
It seems like every ship launching was an event to cover for the local press, so potentially a lot to sift through. – Reidgreg (talk) 18:50, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll check these out at some point. My to-do list grows ever bigger :) I was just glad to at least start an article about this piece of local history. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 19:05, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
