Shenzhen Bay Control Point should merge into Shenzhen Bay Port edit

Closing per request at WP:ANRFC. The merge discussion has been advertised at Shenzhen Bay Port since 00:50, 8 February 2019 (UTC) and at Shenzhen Bay Control Point since 00:49, 8 February 2019 (UTC).

Matthew hk has advanced detailed arguments for a merge of Shenzhen Bay Control Point into Shenzhen Bay Port. No editors have participated in this discussion to oppose the merge in the 143 days that this merge discussion has been open. No arguments have been advanced for why this merge should not take place. So despite there being only one participant in this RfC who discussed the merger, there is a consensus for a merge of Shenzhen Bay Control Point into Shenzhen Bay Port.

Hong Kong government had set up a control point (it is a local slang for border checkpoint) in the building Shenzhen Bay Port. It is so much Matryoshka of articles about the same thing, as the border checkpoint of the two cities can't function without the existence of the any side. Thus Shenzhen Bay Control Point should merge into Shenzhen Bay Port. Matthew hk (talk) 00:48, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Also, the control point is called Shenzhen Bay Port Hong Kong Port Area in the legislation, NOT Shenzhen Bay Control Point. So it is misleading to define the wiki article Shenzhen Bay Port was for the operation relating to Shenzhen government only. Matthew hk (talk) 00:53, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
And for the record, the source material were conflicted to include the port/control point in the Hong Kong–Shenzhen Western Corridor or not, so i did not include to merge the port into the article Hong Kong–Shenzhen Western Corridor in the nomination. Matthew hk, this is not a WP:RFC matter. Please follow the directions at WP:MERGE. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:17, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • @Citobun: Hong Kong media commonly called the cross border facility as Shenzhen Bay Port (see news report below) and in Legislative Council, councillor also call it so.[1] Hong Kong Police and Fire Department, serves the whole Shenzhen Port Hong Kong Port Area, not just the control point (i am not sure the control point cover the whole Hong Kong Port Area or not) either way, it is incorrect to say Shenzhen Bay Port is Shenzhen only. Shenzhen Bay Control Point may be a sub article of Shenzhen Bay Port, and hatnote may served to redirect people to the article, but the article Shenzhen Bay Port, should at least cover in brief Shenzhen Bay Port Shenzhen Port Area and Shenzhen Bay Port Hong Kong Port Area. More detail source material:
  • bastille post: A news report on reporting citizen requesting the extension of the opening hour of Shenzhen Bay Port, with the replies from both Shenzhen and Hong Kong governments, which both refer the facilities as Shenzhen Bay Port, not even Shenzhen Bay Control Point
  • Oriental Daily News of Hong Kong, was reporting the overcrowding of Shenzhen Bay Port (深圳灣口岸) not Control Point.
  • Yet another news, was reporting Hong Kong police (HKPF) made anti-smuggling campaign in Tin Shui Wai and Shenzhen Bay Port (presumably only on Shenzhen Bay Port Hong Kong Port Area, as HKPF did not have jurisdiction of the whole Port), not using the term Shenzhen Bay Control Point.

Note even stalemate. citobun, as an admin, just revert my bold merge without leaving any real constructive comment and reasoning on agree or disagree the matter, just like the dead project Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Hong Kong. Matthew hk (talk) 09:18, 19 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
