Talk:Shen Yang incident

"Shen Yang incident" may erroneously suggest an incident in Shenyang

edit

Should we move this page back to "Shen Yang scandal"? Magic sergeant (talk) 01:07, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Magic sergeant: That will not solve the problem. Shen Yang scandal may also suggest a scandal in Shenyang. --Neo-Jay (talk) 01:13, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Neo-Jay: Maybe "Scandal of Shen Yang" instead then? Magic sergeant (talk) 01:23, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Magic sergeant: It seems to me that the word after "scandal of" may also be a city. For example, in The Scandal of Empire, the word after "scandal of" is a country. --Neo-Jay (talk) 01:37, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Neo-Jay: "... incident" referring to an incident happening in a specific place is more prevalent however. See Nanking Incident, Nanjing Incident (Cultural Revolution), Nanjing Incident of 1616, etc. Magic sergeant (talk) 02:07, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Magic sergeant: Yes, Shen Yang incident may be confusing. But Shen Yang scandal or Scandal of Shen Yang is also confusing. And the current references in the article do not use the word "scandal". Using it in the article title might be a POV. If enough secondary sources refer to this incident as a "scandal", it can be used in the title. --Neo-Jay (talk) 02:18, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Neo-Jay: That makes sense. Magic sergeant (talk) 02:36, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Neo-Jay: Then how about "Allegations of sexual assault conducted by Shen Yang" or so? That might be long, but that's clearer than "Shen Yang incident". It also avoids being a POV. Magic sergeant (talk) 02:46, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Magic sergeant: How about the shorter title "Shen Yang sexual assault allegations"? I am inspired by Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse allegations. --Neo-Jay (talk) 03:17, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Neo-Jay: That's not bad. Magic sergeant (talk) 04:20, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Subtitle not well phrased

edit

"Sex scandal in China" is not well phrased. Should it be changed? Magic sergeant (talk) 07:28, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Magic sergeant: What subtitle? I cannot find the content you are discussing. --Neo-Jay (talk) 09:38, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
