Good article nominations edit

Instead of just creating articles and requesting good article status right away, you should have others look at/read/edit the articles, first. Flesh them out first, see if they actually meet notability requirements and find more substantial sourcing. Don't be in such a rush. Hello, it is me again. I will be reviewing this song for you. Lazman321 (talk) 13:41, 17 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

1. - Well Written edit

a. - Prose edit

  • In the sentence, Finneas cries as the dancers turn shove and toss him roughly around the riverbed. Add a "to" between the "turn" and "shove".
    • Add a space in the lead between "that" and "Avicii".
    • In the Background and composition section, in the phrase ...but has an undercurrent of trouble. "They call us lucky... remove the period and replace it with a "saying".

b. - Manual of Style edit

  • There should be information in the lead about the song being originally written for Avicii to sing.
    • Move the phrase Finneas had heard that Avicii was looking for songs to produce. He wrote the song and sent it to Avicii's team. to before the phrase It was released by OYOY as the third single from the EP on August 22, 2019.
    • In between those two phrases, type It is unknown if Avicii ever listened to the song.
    • Add a "later" between "It was" and "released by".
  • In the lead, remove the phrase, A pop song, as it is not needed.

2. - Verifiable edit

d. - No copyright violations edit

3. - Broad edit

a. - Main Aspects edit

  • Are you sure that this is a single? It isn't listed as a single on iTunes or AllMusic. The citation for its release links to the music video on iTunes which can't be downloaded. If it was a single, it most likely would've charted in the USA.

user:Lazman321, it was a single. Finneas promoted Shelter and was featured in many reliable sources. The Ultimate Boss (talk) 06:30, 18 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

b. - Focused edit

  • No action needed.

4. - Neutral edit

  • No action needed.

5. - Stable edit

  • No action needed.

6. - Illustrated edit

a. - Copyright tags edit

  • No action needed.

b. - Relevant media edit

  • The cover art of the EP put in the writing and composition section would be nice. Make sure you tag it.

user:Lazman321, I have done this in the past with other articles. It was reverted. I would do it, but other editors might get rid of it. The Ultimate Boss (talk) 06:31, 18 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

7. - Overall edit

  • Really nice article. It is a short article, but all information that is available is in this article. I'll put this   On hold for 7 days this time because the improvements are easy. Lazman321 (talk) 17:02, 17 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Lazman321, thanks again for a review! Lmk if anything else needs to be done. The Ultimate Boss (talk) 06:32, 18 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Nice to see you so active again! I will wipe this review out very soon...

  • Finneas → Finneas O'Connell under songwriters

  • Target single to Single (music)
  • "He wrote the song" → "Afterwards, he wrote the song"
  • Mention in this same para info about the song's lyrics
  • "A music video for the track was" → "A music video for "Shelter" was" with the wikilink

  • "Avicii, was looking for" → "Avicii was looking for"
  • "Finneas wrote the track" → "Following on from this, Finneas wrote the track"
  • Only [2] needs to be at the end of the "confess" sentence since the other sources are irrelevant
  • "as the third single on" → "as the third single from" with the target
  • Remove wikilink on Blood Harmony
  • "and streaming through his record label" → "and streaming, through his record label" with the wikilink
  • The pop track sentence should start the second para
  • "described the track as" → "described "Shelter" as"

  • Merge the final para with this one in the new order
  • "is about a love for a girl that brings" → "is about a lover that brings"
  • ""They call us" → "He represents the trouble with the lyrics, "They call us"
  • "for the track only gets more urgent as it continues." → "of the track becomes more urgent as it continues:"

Critical reception edit

  • "received mainly positive reviews" → "was met with mainly positive reviews"
  • "noted that Shelter was" → "noted that "Shelter" was"
  • "he produces for his sister [Billie] [Eilish]"." → "[Finneas] produces for his sister [Billie Eilish]"." and add the wikilink to her in the way that it is done
  • "while he mentions that it's" → "while mentioning that its"
  • "stated that with "Shelter" it" → "stated that the song"
  • "and calls the production" → "and he called the production"
  • Wikilink uptempo per MOS:LINK2SECT

  • Remove the word "official"
  • "while shot in" → "while it was shot in"
  • "It begins with" → "The visual begins with"

  • "the Austin City Limits Music Festival and was backed up" → "the Austin City Limits Music Festival, being backed up

Release history edit

  • See MOS:TABLECAPTION
  • Format → Format(s)
  • Digital download and streaming should be separated in the table

References edit

  • Copyvio score looks great at 11.5%
  • Make sure all of these are archived by using the tool
  • Fix MOS:QWQ issues with ref 3
  • Ref 6 is not the correct ref, since you should be citing one that verifies the release of the song as a single, not its music video's release and cite various retailers with the countries in brackets

Final comments and verdict edit

  •   On hold after reviewing this short article, though it is quite close to the criteria.
