I have added its name in Arabic script as it is originally written. Abulfazl 12:32, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Gurmukhi is not relevent edit

Gurmukhi is not relevent to this article as the History section clearly describes the origin of the name is Arbaic rather than Punjabi or Sanskrit for that matter. Moreover, this place is in Pakistan where Gurmukhi is not used. Therefore, Gurmukhi should be removed. Szhaider 12:44, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Punjabi Not Gurmukhi edit

Dear, punjabi is language of area though area name seems arabic and Punjabi is written in both scripts around the world shahmukhi and gurmukhi so gurmukhi script has equal rights to appear on this page Abulfazl 07:49, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

My friend, we are talking about Pakistan, not the whole world. Adding gurmukhi means it is the customary script for punjabi in Pakistan which equals giving wrong information as in first line only those scripts are given which are local to the area being dicsussed. If you want to give Gurmukhi, give it somewhere in history section while mentioning "before partition of sub-continent" etc. Szhaider 18:57, 3 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Delightfully written posts by Abulfazl edit

Has been a pleasure to read your posts Abulfazal , specially your deep and first hand knowledge of this region of the Punjab . Cant Say I agreed with everything however even your posts on the Hindus made me smile .Am sure our paths will cross again on Wikipedia because I seem to hang about in the same virtual Punjab regions of wikipedia as yourself .Intothefire 15:54, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Turncrypt ref your edit viz edit

viz Revision as of 03:59, 28 February 2007 (edit) Tuncrypt (Talk | contribs) (lol this is in the pakistan! they don't use gurumouth they use kingmouth) ← Older edit

your reason for removal in the first instance itself was thoughtless apart from your comment being extremely uncivil .

Gurmukhi is one of the scripts in which Punjabi is written. There continue to be Punjabis from the region of Sheikhan now living in India who also continue to use Gurmukhi .

Frankly I find your comment needlessly rude and in very poor taste .Intothefire 08:08, 5 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

WikiTravel? edit

For a minute I was thinking I am viewing an article on WikiTravel. Can somebody please explain why we have these sections

  • Local Proverbs:
  • Detail of Calendar (Well most villages and cities around use calendar's explaind but why we need complete names on this article?
  • Household Goods
  • Production (Wikipedia allows links, a simple para or list like Crops: Wheat, Rice can do the trick
  • How To Reach Here

I am asking this instead of cleaning that somebody who contributed might have an opinion why these should remain on article. I have also seen some POV terms in article and it would better if one of the original contributor fix these. This is cause they can provide a ref if they believe a claim is true. I am pasting an example below

Adda Sheikhan has become a business hub of the area. A branch of Habib Bank is situated at Adda Sheikhan. The crops, urea and other goods are well traded here and people of surrounding villages prefer doing their sale purchase at Adda Sheikhan. A telephone exchange is also fulfilling the communication needs of the entire area since 2005. --Webkami 15:13, 5 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Like I said, one might think that village is business hub of the area or people might prefer doing their sale purchase. But unless a source is provided this kind of introduction is considered point of view or maybe considered biased opinion. See Wikipedia:POV. I will later move all sections that should not be in the article to talk page. You can later place them in other relevant articles if you like. Thank you for understanding. --Webkami 10:32, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, It looks better, I appreciate your effort specially that you did not remove any piece of information but preserved it in more logical manner. Thanks again. Abulfazl 10:53, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

You are welcome. However I am still not done. Please help if you can....Thanks --Webkami 10:56, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Although I have great interest in all parts of Pakistan and specially less populous areas of Rural Punjab & Northern Areas, I do not consider my self well informed about this subject. Would not be able to contribute to the article but I surely will keep a watch and help whenever I can. Thanks. --Webkami 13:12, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
