Filmfare Awards
editThere seems to be some confusion on the status of the filmfare awards for the Best Music Director in 1959. Apparently most of the music sites on the net (and that includes the IMDB) had got it wrong and Anadi did not win it. As far as I can recall one of its songs had won the award and not the album. Can somebody look into this? Do filmfare people maintain an archive?
Check official filfare site:http://filmfareawards.indiatimes.com/articleshow/366389.cms SHankar-Jaikishan were awarded the best music director for Anari in 1959. I hope that settles it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.21.123.169 (talk) 00:32, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
Native of Telangana?
editIn his interview to Raju Bharatan Shankar speaks about being a naturalised Andhra which proves that he is not a native of Telangana (then Andhra) state. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dpradeepc (talk • contribs) 05:01, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
Highest paid?
editimo, the claim that they are the highest paid music directors of all time needs substantiation. Within the context of Bollywood, people like R. D. Burman, Laxmikant Pyarelal and currently A. R. Rahman can all be claimants to that tag. --Gurubrahma 10:05, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Good observation but imho "Highest paid" needs to be calliberated to the economic standards and the nominal value of the ruppee in those and these times (inflation effects etc....) --User:Apoorv Khurasia 0124, 9 Apr 2007
Yes. If you consider the % money given to the music director to the % money actually spent in making the movie, which probably is a good way to estimate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.21.123.169 (talk) 00:36, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

I think parasmani has music from laxmikant pyarelal and it was their first film for which they received the coveted filmfare award. Please check. LP's first Filmfare award was Dosti. Check 1963 and 1964 ( Parasmani was made and released in 1963 ) Filmfare awards. 1963 Filfare award went to Roshan and 1964 to LP for Dosti — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.21.123.169 (talk) 00:41, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

Alleged disputes between Shankar and Jaikishan
editThis whole section has no references and seems to be based on pure gossip. It should be removed until adequate and acceptable references can be included.
Needs more sources
editToo much of this article is original research and gossip/speculation, none of which is acceptable for Wikipedia. We need to find reliable sources on Shankar and Jaikishan. Someone must have written a paper or article about their musical styles and newspapers almost certainly covered them at some point given their popularity. Please add these sources, and we should remove any unverifiable information. Symphing12 (talk) 13:33, 30 July 2023 (UTC)
