Unreferenced tag

Unidentified user 219.77.84.68 added the unreferenced tag. Most of the references to Sha tau kok in published works deal with the town many decades ago, and more up to date information would require it to be published and authored by someone first before you can make any references available. Given the lack of references, the tag will be here for a very long time.

The difficulty with obscure places is just that, it's obscure where current and up to date info comes from users who have a familiarity with the area. That, would imply that most of the article can be termed original work, and ought to be deleted, since it cannot satisfy Wikipedia's thirst for referencing. Similary other articles on villages and places where there is no referencable material. Either you accept first hand knowledge from longstanding wikipedians with a link to those places, or deletion is the logical endpoint of requiring references for which little up to date publications are lacking. Is it still closed?

Historically it was considered a closed town. But Sha Tau Kok actually began opening in June 2022, followed by the second phase that started January 2024. [1] So can it still be deemed as closed nowadays if they are now open to tourists?[2]49.180.87.160 (talk) 20:12, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
