Merge Jaboya system into this page

edit

Proposed that Jaboya system be merged into this page. The Jaboya system article is about one particular manifestation of the Sex for Fish phenomenon as practiced in Kenya. The Sex for Fish article covers the topic broadly as it occurs in a number of countries in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 08:42, 18 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Language

edit

This is written in not very impartial language. It reads like something an NGO or activist would write, and doesn't provide an unbiased account of the phenomenon, as one would expect from an encyclopedia. 79.171.77.205 (talk) 18:55, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Who is being exploited?

Are the men exploiting the women or are the women exploiting the men?49.206.12.152 (talk) 22:35, 11 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

The men are exploiting women. Traditionally, the men would fish and the women would buy the fish from them to take home. When the woman does not have enough money to pay for the fish, they engage in jaboya. CalebTheNerd (talk) 01:32, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
