References edit

I'd like to know where this pre-episode information is coming from because, at least in the case of this article, it seems to have been flawed. Seven Minutes to Midnight contained nothing that focused on Niki or the Petrellis, they weren't even shown in the episode. -Hoekenheef 03:04, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Although this appears to have been rectified, I can confirm that the online TV listing I saw for this episode did indicate that Niki was supposed to appear in it.
This is episode information distributed by NBC in advance of the episode. Yes, it is often incorrect, and so the synopses need to be corrected after the episode airs. Primogen 18:56, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Surprising associate" edit

I don't know if it's necessary to use the term "surprising associate" when referring to Eden, as her affiliation with Mr. Bennet had been established 2 episodes previously. 23skidoo 06:03, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

That unfortunate phrasing came from NBC's own description of the episode, which was written so as not to provide spoilers when they release the synopsis a few weeks ago. Anyway, that has all been rewritten. Primogen 21:32, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

waitress? edit

What was the name of the waitress on the show, and who is the actress that plays her? ---FoodMarket talk! 08:57, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

The character's name is "Charlie" Primogen 21:28, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

spoiler picture edit

isn't the picture a spoiler for the episode?

Yes it is. Just like the ENTIRE ARTICLE which is why there are spoiler tags present. NorthernThunder 12:49, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Why was the picture I added to this article changed? That picture is worse because it's too dark. NorthernThunder 22:21, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Charlie's apparent power edit

Eidetic memory isn't really a superpower since some actual non-super people have it. She also seems to have some ability to extrapolate on knowledge she's gained, at least in terms of language (similar to Cypher), as she uses Japanese words that aren't in her phrasebook. Is there a better descriptor of her apparent abilities? Otto4711 23:42, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Eidetic memory to such levels is unattested in actual people, I'd say... (see also its own article). Calling it a superpower in this case is definitely justified. prezzey 21:54, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Eidetic memory isn't technically a superpower, but it is clear from the way that Charlie talks about it that it's not an ability she's had her whole life, but a recently emerging trait. This suggests that her latent eidetic memory is being triggered by the same thing that's triggering the rest of the Heroes powers. 171.159.64.10 16:06, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I'm not suggesting that her memory isn't a "superpower" in her particular case. I'm suggesting that there may be a better way to describe her powers since she seems to be able to not only remember and store the information she absorbs but also exhibit knowledge of things she hasn't otherwise been exposed to, at least in terms of language. Similar to John Doe. It may be too soon to categorize her power differently but if it does turn out her abilities are more expansive we should be looking for another term for it. Anon wants to make ref. to "Watchmen" edit

An anon has twice tried to insert text suggesting that the episode's title specifically refers to the graphic novel Watchmen. This is speculative at best, and it is far more likely (although still speculative) that the title is inspired by the actual "Doomsday Clock", which began (and currently sits) at seven minutes to midnight.

Page move edit

On a related note, if there are no objections, I'm going to move this page to Seven Minutes to Midnight (Heroes episode) so that Seven Minutes to Midnight can redirect to Doomsday Clock. A Google search on the term brings up links to the Doomsday Clock first, and it is likely to be a valid search term for that subject. (The clock was set to seven minutes before midnight on five occasions: at its inception in 1949; in 1960, 1968, 1980, and finally in 2002, where it remains today.) I'll take care of any related links as well. --Ckatzchatspy 06:39, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Go ahead thats how the page was originally set up to begin with.. EnsRedShirt 14:54, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

The meaning of the title edit

Take a look at this screen cap during the episode; [1]. This watch was presumably broken when Sylar killed Chandra Suresh. I believe this screenshot was taken in the diner, so it may be a subtle indication that Sylar killed Charlie (or gave the killer his broken watch if you want to play Devil's Advocate :P ). So the meaning would be the Doomsday Clock, and when Sylar killed Chandra Suresh. Siyavash 13:17, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I also think that screen capture is much better for the article then the one we have now.. EnsRedShirt 14:55, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I found no indication of the watch worn by charlie's and chandra's murderer was the same (suggesting that they were murdered by the same person), so I edited it in, since it is rather pertinent. 211.72.233.5 17:05, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
