Contemporary term as opposed to British Army terminology of 1914-15 edit

This reminds me of the US Army Service Corps categorisation that existed in 1918, which differed from the role of the similarly titled Army Service Corps in both the Canadian Army and the British Army at that point in time.

The "Service Battalion" of the British Army was created for the duration of the war, and would be disbanded in peacetime, as opposed to being part of the permanent establishment. The French Army has a similar concept with the bataillon de marche, which are created for a temporary time period. Keith H99 (talk) 13:13, 13 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
