Are there any non–ukrainian articles (which are frankly biased) indicating that Vinogradsky is a ukrainian scientist? He was born in the Russian Empire, and not in ukraine, in a city in which in the pre-revolutionary years, according to population censuses, the Russian population was 54.2%, and all his scientific works are written in Russian.

"...written in Russian" is the opposite of persuasive given the circumstances.In 1876 Winogradsky was 20 years old. That year tsar Alexander II of Russia issued the Ems Ukaz, banning the use of the Ukrainian language in print. It forbade the import of Ukrainian publications. The ukaz also forbade the staging of plays or lectures in Ukrainian. Winogradsky did not have the choice of language implied, he was forbidden from using Ukrainian when formally presenting or publishing his scientific works. Bias is a concern that cuts both ways. If the 300 years of the attempted russification of Ukraine had been successful, I would not be able to say this, but, Winogradsky's Ukranian identity, tied to his family's language, culture, and his ties to Ukraine in terms of place, is real. @Paleorthid what makes you think that he considered himself a ukrainian? Is there any evidence of this?
The Ems ukaz did not prevent Taras Shevchenko from writing in ukrainian. This also did not prevent Hrushevsky from identifying himself with the ukrainian people.
On February 18, 1905, the General Meeting of the Academy of Sciences approved the note of the commission consisting of academicians A. Shakhmatov, F. Korsh, A. Famintsin. Fortunatov, A. Lappo-Danilevsky and S. Oldenburg "On the abolition of restrictions on the Little Russia printed word", which served to abolish the prohibitions on publishing books in the ukrainian language.
The Ems Ukaz, without being officially canceled, actually became invalid after the publication of the Manifesto on October 17, 1905.
