Korea Queer Culture FestivalSeoul Queer Culture Festival – The official name has changed. http://sqcf.org/xe/notice/173978 Comedora (talk) 09:36, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

This is a contested technical request (permalink).  — Amakuru (talk) 10:33, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment / Weak oppose - per WP:OFFICIALNAME and WP:NAMECHANGES we don't automatically rename this just because the official name changed. We need confirmation that reliable sources are using the new name too. It seems too soon at present.  — Amakuru (talk) 10:33, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • @Amakuru: There won't be many (if any) mentions (from reliable sources or not) until summer, when the event takes place. Can this discussion wait (pause) or will it be closed automatically after 7 days? --Comedora (talk) 08:57, 21 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • In recent years, events called "Queer Culture Festival" are holding many region in South Korea. But I think the events have no Wikipedia:Notability. And we don't know whether the events will continue in the future or not. So, I am sceptical about this request as of now. Thanks. --Garam (talk) 11:02, 24 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • @Garam: Of course it will continue. The number of participants has been growing rapidly (three thousands in 2013, ten thousands in 2014, thirty thousands in 2015, fifty thousands in 2016, and eighty thousands last year) and it's the oldest+biggest LGBT event in Korea. Why would it discontinue? How can it be not notable? --Comedora (talk) 12:48, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • @Garam: I don't think the notability of this article's subject is in question. The annual event is not only frequently reported/introduced in Korean and foreign news articles but also in books (such as [1]) and journal articles (such as [2]) which are excellent secondary sources. --Comedora (talk) 15:02, 25 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Infobox type change proposal edit

I'm thinking we should change the infobox type to one for recurring events as its more relevant and appropriate for this event rather than a Korean name infobox. My proposal would be to change to the infobox I have shown here.

Seoul Queer Culture Festival
서울퀴어문화축제

Seoul Queer Pride Parade 2019, around the Gwanghwamun Plaza
FrequencyAnnually
Location(s)Seoul
CountrySouth Korea
Years active2000–present

Your feedback and thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks. Helper201 (talk) 16:34, 28 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
