Moving from Draft to Article edit

Hello, this subject of an article already had a draft that was declined on 24 October 2024 by User:Greenman as being improperly sourced and not in encyclopedic tone. I was not aware of these drafts. Please check now. In my opinion this is publishable and the subject sufficiently notable. Aklein62 (talk) 16:36, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Aklein62: the current draft would still fall short. There are too many unsourced statements, for example the date of birth, and most of the entire career section. See WP:BLP. All statements, starting with the date of birth, need to be sourced or removed. Also note that the draft will be difficult for reviewers to review, as none of the sources are easily accessible. Good evening Greenman, okay, I will add a source to the biography. There is not much as this sort of information is usually not included in journal articles or reviews. And that especially applies to things like the date of birth. Unless a musician has already appeared in a music encyclopedia, this sort of information never appears anywhere. I haven't checked this, but I am pretty sure that the vast majority of biographies on Wikipedia would not have an external source for the date of birth, even if the first paragraph has a reference. In this case, of course, I asked the article's subject for it because a WP biography should not be without a date of birth. Let me do a few edits, please, and then I ask you to check again. As a last resort, can we publish the article and you or somebody else applies a tag like "further references necessary" or similar. As for sources that are "accessible" for everyone: well, sources are sources, I have them here, and if anyone wants to know I can show them. My own credibility as a musicologist stands and falls with reliable sources. Aklein62 (talk) 18:40, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello again Greenman, you did not respond to my message above of 13 December. And User:Onel5969: Since you originally moved the first version of this article from Article to Draft status back in 2021, would you mind having a look again now? I would publish this article now since I think the issues are solved as far as they are solvable. There remains the question of the unsourced date of birth. Two things about this: firstly, the vast majority of biographies on WP have unsourced dates of birth. You can't want to delete them all. Secondly, I suggest we solve this with a "more citations needed" tag. The source can then be added when an external source becomes available. In the meantime I can assure you that the date (and everything else) is correct. Can I have a response from you by next weekend? Thank you. Aklein62 (talk) 16:31, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Looked okay to me. Could use a few more citations (other editors may delete that material if not cited). Onel5969 TT me 02:20, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
