Things I have questions about

To me the whole article sounds awkward - a music geeks dream perhaps but to someone liike me full of technobabble. But looking at this section alone.

"more balanced frequency response" more balance than what, those other models, rivals, than it used to be it's not clear. Also in what way is it more balanced?

Is Grado the only possible rival? If not then why mention it.

The article makes total sense, in all fields of consumer A/V. There is nothing in the article to make it in anyway bias. The level of technological understanding is basic, and as such uses basic terms and words to describe primary a/v principals. Anybody with dispute needs to revisit their high school.

The article has now beed edited to such an extent it is not even of use. The information is lacking, and the audio principals for which the technology is tighly based have been totally removed. Nearly all the information in some way lacks vital sub information which controls the overall level and extent of the audiology in the field conext. Shame.

Article Issues

Response from Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 21:53, 26 July 2006 (UTC)—Apparently the article was started by someone who had little or no information about the company. Since then, a broader NPOV had to be achieved, and that is why the article might look vague to you. You can actually help Wikipedia by re-tuning the article to make it look the way you want it.

Article reads like a press release and violates NPOV guideline

Much of this article reads like it was copied verbatim from company press releases and promotional brochures. For example:

“The German company was founded in 1945 by Dr. Fritz Sennheiser and, to this day, remains an independent family business. Since 2013, Daniel Sennheiser and Dr. Andreas Sennheiser have been Co-CEOs - the third generation of the Sennheiser family to lead the company.”

This is not how an encyclopedia article designed to provide unembellished factual information should read. A purely informative article would not include phrasing like ‘and to this day it remains an independent family business’ which is typical of the “our story” section of promotional material companies publish.

An encyclopedia article is not about telling the company story. It is supposed relay facts and figures about the business and its history. Nothing more, nothing less. Dry stuff and not very exciting, but that’s how an encyclopedic NPOV is supposed to read. If you want a narrative and lively writing read the company’s PR and product advertisements, not Wikipedia.

This article isn’t terrible, there are far worse on Wikipedia, but it does violate the NPOV rule. Unlike at articles about politics and current affairs, there aren’t hoards of partial editors camping out here and policing it to ensure that their preferred bias stays intact. So making changes isn’t futile.

The issues with tone you've mentioned are still present. Unfortunately, the best way I can think of to fix the tone is to remove the extra information, and half the information on this article, even though it's technically correct and cited, probably needs to be removed. I'd be in favor of either a rollback to before the COI editor came in or rewriting it from basically the ground up. Xexno54 (talk) 15:09, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

Acquisition by Sonova

Nothing in the article about the Sonova acquisition (https://en-us.sennheiser.com/newsroom/sonova-acquires-sennheiser-consumer-business-wpc768) I remember news before it happening, but I thought I imagined it or something and seeing nothing about it here made me panic lol. Never contributed to wikipedia before, but just wanted to flag something noteworthy I felt needs addressing. Can come back to this and add edit myself once I work out how to properly do that lol.
