Talk:Self-healing ring

Latest comment: 12 years ago by 71.184.69.204 in topic Number of stations

This is a comment which was in the article, I moved it here:

to be written: link capacity allocation, different technologies, synchronous vs. asynchronous, cutover state machines''

Delete article and redirect?

edit

It seems to me that this article could be completely deleted. Instead, there should be an article about loops/rings in distribution networks in general that this term redirects to. A Self-healing ring has little difference from looping in water systems or a grid in a roadway system. An article that describes these and mentions the specific use in telecommunications seems more appropriate.

Number of stations

edit

The picture shows four stations. Are there always exactly four stations, or can it vary? Are there any limits on what is too many or too few stations? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.184.69.204 (talk) 15:23, 21 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
