This section of "Examples" that was removed I believe are very revelent to the article. They were removed because of Wikipedia:External links which states that: Adding external links can be helpful to everyone, but they should be restricted to those that are most meritable, accessible and relevant to the article. Some are external links to Self Guided tours and some are brochures associated with Sefl Guided tours. These were put here to show examples and are most relevant to the article.
The first one is a brochure of a University - "Self Guided Tour of UCLA" - an educational facility. It is quite common that people do self quided tours of educational facilities.

The next one is of self guided tours with association to audio devices. Here the Biltmore Estate would be another example where most people tour the facilities on their own (self guided) with an audio recorder telling you what you are seeing at each step.

- I would suggest that an appropriate compromise is to trim the list (it was pretty long) and to focus on retaining those with minimal corporate advertiseyness. For example, the NPS link is excellent. The GPS tour thing (that you're citing here by product name) looks like an ad. UCLA free PDF? Good. Randon's dot-com? Ad. So I'd recommend culling the list on that basis. Also, note that WP:EL recommends linking to HTML rather than direct to rich media (like the NPS and UCLA PDFs) if possible -- if there's a good web page for that, then it's preferable, but PDF is certainly fairly commonplace if that remains the best option. — Lomn 06:04, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
