maybe someone who actually understands the lyrics should write the summary of each song.

wow whoever wrote these explanations sure has done a poor job... i'm gonna edit them tonight

Sehnsucht (track) edit

For the track description it's probably worth linking to the entry on sehnsucht (the word). Translating sehnsucht as 'longing' is like translating schadenfreude as 'happiness', it only covers a fraction of the meaning. The song itself is a poetic depiction of sehnsucht caused by a lover. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.159.109.240 (talk) 00:34, 3 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I added a little blurb with a link to the page, and also used a bit of your comment from here. Hope you don't mind. Tmw1488 (talk) 07:51, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

False Information edit

the song "Stripped" is sung in english, and therefore the phrase "only album entirely in german to go platinum is the us........." is false and needs to be removed

The Song Stripped isn't on the album.Óli Gneisti (talk) 14:07, 15 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Du Hast mistranslated edit

Du Hast actually means "You Hate" in English. Although someone that doesn't speak German would probably translate this to the more often used meaning of Hast, The Middle English word Hast. You know, "Thou hast..." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.255.98.225 (talk) 06:03, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Actually "du hast" means "you have". "You hate" would be "du hasst", which is pronounced in a similar way. Icalanise (talk) 23:57, 29 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Dead external links to Allmusic website – January 2011 edit

Since Allmusic have changed the syntax of their URLs, 1 link(s) used in the article do not work anymore and can't be migrated automatically. Please use the search option on http://www.allmusic.com to find the new location of the linked Allmusic article(s) and fix the link(s) accordingly, prefereably by using the {{Allmusic}} template. If a new location cannot be found, the link(s) should be removed. This applies to the following external links:

Micro Cassette? edit

As in, the matchbook sized tapes used for office dictation and answering machines? Or has someone got confused over the definition of "Compact Cassette" (aka audiocassette)? The existence of a commercial music release on the former medium would surely be a bit more notable than a 2-line mention within another article? 77.102.101.220 (talk) 15:54, 19 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Most common cover art edit

Thee cover I've seen the most is the one with Cristoph Schneider. It shows up about twice as often as the Till Lindemann when you search Sehnsucht on Google images. I believe the Cristoph Schneider one was the one used on this wiki page originally. Maybe public opinion has changed but I think if you asked a random Rammstein fan to describe the Sehnsucht album cover from memory they'd describe the Schneider one more often than not. 2600:1008:B03B:4723:61A0:AF0B:5A53:ED0E (talk) 22:34, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
