Shaun's Name

Shaun's full name is Shaun Morgan Welgemoed - he decided to drop his Afrikaans surname as he thought that anyone outside of South Africa (and Holland) would have trouble pronouncing it.

I feel that his full name should be stated; I don't think the (formerly... ) part does justice or shows the right respect.

I took out the (prev. Welgemoed) part because his name still is Shaun Morgan Welgemoed. Weili 12:33, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Fragile Information

Maybe it should be stated that the Fragile record was released on Musketeer Records (Saron Gas label for some years) and was produced by Brian O’Shea. (http://www.seether-online.com/sarongas.htm). 81.208.164.211 23:05, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Studio Drums

Maybe the fact that some (most? all?) of the drums on Disclaimer were played by legendary drummer Josh Freese. This was just for the studio session and as far as I know, they only got Nick Oshiro to join after. 81.208.164.211 23:10, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Shaun

I'd just like to say I admire Shaun for what he's doing right now. It takes a brave person to admit publicly to not coping with an addiction and asking for help.

He has one hell of an amazing voice - sexy, rocky, so much feeling - so I really hope we hear more of him and Seethers.

Shaun - good on ya, kiddo. Keep it rocking.

By the way I'm 54 and glad to be rocking to quality music like yours. Hope I've not destroyed your cred by stating my age!!! love your music.

I'd like to say that if anyone messes with what i've written they're the saddos. I write from the heart.

Stefanie

umm.... im sorry for "raining on your parade" but SHAUN WILL NEVER SEE WHAT YOU JUST WROTE!!! this isnt a fansite, a place to say how much you love Seether or Shaun. if it was i would be writing how much i love seether too, but sadly its not, there are other places to do that, surely a "54" year old would have enough common sence to know that a person like Shaun or any one else from any other band would probably never read that, but i guess not. - ImxSoxRad 23:10, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

what the previous person just said. Itachi1452 16:16, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

how stupid can you get. but still if he has the internet and goes around on it he might be able to read it and i doubt he would care about you being 54 because as he said in One Cold Night in the interview he doesn't like a band less because they're a bunch of ugly guys. he likes them for their music. so i think he would appreciate you just being a fan. How sad i think i just became a therapist. But anyway i agree with the person near the top he does have a sexy, rocken voice. How i just love him. Trista

i know shaun had like an alcohol problem and stuff, but dont you think it was a little harsh of amy lee to write "call me when you're sober" about him and then release it and STATE that it was about him? Inuxshinedown 01:50, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Ah, but it's not common sense if you are fairly unfamiliar with computers. Alot of older people are. I find more and more that it's not common knowledge to alot of people that age. I mean seriously, if they were younger I could see you saying that, but does it really make you guys feel good to flame old people? 68.99.92.88 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 17:14, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Broken

The 'Broken' link goes to the Nine Inch Nails song. Is there a page for the Seether/Amy Lee song? --Stretch 11:39, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

its the last one on disclaimer 2 ... try youtube?Inuxshinedown 01:51, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Huh?

"In a recent BBC investigation underway its known that Amy Lee's new Call Me When You're Sober lyrics are a reference to Welgemoed's/W-UR knowing, exploiting, and withholding criminal information regarding the murder of Kurt Cobain." - this just doesn't make sense to me. I heard that the lyrics were about Shaun's substance abuse problem. Where did the Kurt Cobain conspiracy come from? and is this even really just one sentence? It seem like two seperate ones that got jumbled together. 144.36.169.226 09:56, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

That must be the stupidest quote I've ever heard. Just like ever. Please give a link or picture to prove this is true because I just don't believe that. [GRUNGEFACE]

Genre

look, in my opinion, seether is a post-grunge, alt-metal, alt rock (maybe, but is it really necessary), and definetly hard rock. look, if bands like nickelback are considered hard rock, seether is definetly hard rock too. AMG calls them hard rockers, and look at the powerchords they playi. Itachi1452 01:51, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Nickelband is not hard rock. The singer's voice alone rules that out.Ndriley97 (talk) 20:59, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

In a note on their iTunes page, they are considered Nu metal as well. I put that in their genre list and added them to the List of Nu metal bands. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.28.21.61 (talk) 23:28, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

The edit warring going on about the genre is getting way beyond ridiculous! I'm putting a "cite needed" tag on it so that whoever edits it next should provide a proper citation. Roger (talk) 12:28, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Ok just because iTunes says something doesn't mean it's true. Seether isn't nu metal. They are, as stated above, post-grunge, hard rock, maybe alt metal and alt rock. If you had to catogorize them as one genre it would be Post-Grunge. [GRUNGEFACE] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.3.22.3 (talk) 01:24, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

seether is hard rock and alt metal and post-grunge not just post-grunge Seth4000 (talk) 11:51, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Seth4000

Band Photo

Seeing as how Pat is no longer in the band, I think there should be a different photo of the band. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jax6272427 (talkcontribs) 02:00, August 22, 2007 (UTC).

What about their new band photo on seether.com, someone should change it to that photo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Red black 07 (talkcontribs) 23:56, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Trivia

To help disperse the Trivia section, I propose the following be done:

  • For the 2nd bullet point (regarding Shaun's surname), maybe this should only be in Shaun Morgan's wikipedia page, and not Seether's.
  • For the 4th bullet point, maybe make a section titled "Songs in Pop Culture" and list each song as a bullet point.
  • For the last bullet point, make a section titled "Cover Songs". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnyp03 (talkcontribs) 21:49, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
New trivia have been added by anonymous users; I'd like someone able to verify those claims to do so. --Gwyndon 16:15, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

What new trivia? i added a fair bit to the page, regarding singles trivia, soundtrack songs and unreleased songs --steve37 —Preceding comment was added at 16:26, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Walk Away From the Sun

Somebody please post a source that proves this is the third single from FBINS. It has been listed as a single in the info box at the bottom of the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.184.230.206 (talk) 01:06, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Seether performance photo

The article's accompanying photo of Seether performing in Washington DC Media:Seether_Chili_Cookoff_2008.JPG doesn't seem like the best photo to display the band. That is, it's hard to see the band without looking closely. Perhaps it should be cropped to put emphasis on the members or a better photo should replace it? Cody-7 (talk) 22:49, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

I strongly agree. hsxeric (talk) 03:38, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Tenth Anniversary Album

What happened to this piece? Supposedly they were to release an album (in 2009) to coincide with their tenth anniversary. What gives? Why not? Is it still on, ect? This should be IN the article.

Genre talk

look. they're not just post-grunge, ok? They are alternative metal. Don't believe me? Look up FYE, allmusic, melodic.net, who describes them as alternative metal.76.110.128.158 (talk) 20:00, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Allmusic doesn't say they're metal. --How may I serve you? Marshall Williams2 Talk Autographs Contribs 21:35, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
it does say ALTERNATIVE metal!76.110.128.158 (talk) 22:00, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Why'd you erase post grunge? It says alternative metal and post grunge. allmusic --How may I serve you? Marshall Williams2 Talk Autographs Contribs 22:30, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

their need to be a section for Seether influences —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.203.158.243 (talk) 02:49, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Headlining...

Okay, is all of this headlining info really necessary to put on under the new album section? I don't see that for any of the other albums. --How may I serve you?
