Strong keep I am not sure why this article has been nominated for speedy deletion since it is obvious from the text that there are over a million members of Alpine club sections in several major European countries and that their work has been, and still is, important in the history and development of the Alps. I happened to see the tag for speedy deletion. Surprised. There is a corresponding de-WP article. The "Alpenverein" is translated to Alpine club, my personal translation would be Alpine Association. It has a long history in several European countries. This article explains the organisation. Notable enough imo, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:55, 29 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
