2013

I sort of feel bad for doing this on here but I'm too lazy to make a Wiki account and aside from that, the page is semi-protected! But I noticed that someone updated that Zinger would be going by her birth name now (Hana) and I felt that I should mention that a 2013 sub-article should be added for their new mini-album "Letters from Secret". allkpop has the articles with information in their tags right now so I just thought I'd make that known! 24.7.217.199 (talk) 21:20, 25 April 2013 (UTC)

Hyosung scandal

Should this not be added in?

"Netizens were in an uproar today after Secret member Hyosung used the word "democratization" in a way that offended them.

Secret was a guest on the radio program "Choi Hwa Jung' Power Time" as part of their promotional activities for their latest album "Letter from Secret". Hyosung innocently commented, "Secret is a team that respects each other's individual characteristics. We don't try to democratize the team."

While Hyosung's remark seemed uncontroversial, netizens have demonized the singer. Unknown to Hyosung, the word "democratize" has been adopted by netizens as a negative word used to describe the act of attacking a minority when their thoughts and opinions differ from the majority.

Although the word is mainly used on community forums in that way, netizens continue to chastise the idol for using the word. There is currently a movement to have the singer edited out of an upcoming episode of "Infinity Challenge" due to the misunderstanding.

TS Entertainment, Secret's agency, has defended Hyosung, explaining that she meant that the group lets individual strengths shine. The idol apologized for her ignorance of the word's new meaning, tweeting, "I am reflecting on my use of an inappropriate word without knowing its meaning. I'm sorry. I will be more careful so that this never happens again. I apologize to everyone once again.""

She's being crucified by antis online - people are calling for her to be edited out of television shows, she's being called a "misogynist", Seokang, Hanyang, and Sungkyunkwan Universities have canceled events with Secret... It doesn't need a new section because it doesn't seem to concern Secret as a whole. The scandal only involves Hyosung so it should be added in her page. We could make a few sentences about the summary of the issue but that's just about it. The rest of the details should be added in her page. Mazic (talk) 15:26, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Hyosung or Hyoseong?

I usually see her name given as Hyosung - it's her official fancafe name (http://cafe.daum.net/JunHyoSung) and her single was released as "Jun Hyosung", but this article has her listed as "Hyoseong". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.16.255.231 (talk) 05:28, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

It's the romanization used by their company, at least according to the pictures from their Poison minialbum [1] and artist profile [2]. Wikipedia goes by the preferred spelling of the company. Evaders99 (talk) 07:45, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
