Talk:Search engine marketing/Archives/2019

Semi-protected edit request on 18 October 2019

Dear established Wiki-User,

I have the following suggestions to extend and clarify the Wiki article on "Search engine marketing". I would like to propose to change in sub chapter "Methods and metrics":

"It should be also focused on keyword marketing or pay-per-click advertising (PPC). The technology enables advertisers to bid on specific keywords or phrases and ensures ads appear with the results of search engines."

to:

"It should be also focused on keyword marketing (also called sponsored search or paid search) or pay-per-click advertising (PPC). The technology enables advertisers to bid on specific keywords or phrases and ensures ads appear with the results of search engines. Before advertisers set the bid, it is necessary to determine appropriate keywords, consider an ad position to aim for and, design the ad’s content.[XX]"

[XX] is a placeholder for the source.

Based on the guidelines to use reliable, I think that the following research article (published and went through peer-review-process) seems suitable: Schlangenotto, D., Kundisch, D., Poniatowski, M. 2018. What Drives Paid Search Success: A Systematic Literature Review, in: Proceedings of the 24th Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), New Orleans, USA. (link: https://aisel.aisnet.org/amcis2018/MetaResearch/Presentations/2/)

It would be thankful, if it would be possible to extend this article by my suggestions.

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. This makes it read more as a guide than an encyclopedia. — Frood (talk!) 00:14, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
