Names edit

Can somebody explain to me why there is the Bulgarian name up there? Never in the last 700 years has there been a particular Bulgarian presence in or around the Marmara Sea. I really think that we are overdoing this whole alternate name thing, honestly. If there is no logical rationale I will remove it soon. Baristarim 00:46, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Try leaving a note on Vanka's talk page. Khoikhoi 01:04, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok.. Why don't we all start speaking Esperanto or something? That way there would be no problems.. lol Baristarim 01:10, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Because Sea of Marmara is connected with bulgarian history very long before on this area to come turkish people... See article:Anatolian Bulgarians... Best regards --Pakko 19:28, 9 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Stumbling upon this old line of discussion, Pakko's comment made me smile since the word "Bulgar" is the name of a Turkic tribe and Bulgars were originally Slavisized Turkic people.

Pollution edit

The Sea of Marmara has been experiencing heavy pollution from both shipping and waste water treatment plants. Someone should add more about that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fjf1085 (talkcontribs) 23:49, 16 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
