Etymology edit

Have added an etymology section and, having checked the OED and other dictionaries, inserted the commonly agreed one and removed an uncited descent from the Irish. I had problems with layout using the Etymology heading though (it made the text box run into the top illustration)...if anyone can help fix that it would be appreciated.--Phil Wardle (talk) 01:10, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Missing Word? edit

Is there a word or are there words missing in the below passage?

"Scrivener notaries are only appointed after five years articles to a practicing scrivener notary."

It's the phrase "five years articles" that seems to be missing something. --Skb8721 (talk) 21:04, 18 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Merger edit

Should be merged with Scribe IMO, since they cover the same topic. 142.68.89.145 (talk) 06:03, 14 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

I second this opinion. Dzenanz (talk) 10:05, 6 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Scrivener is not entirely obsolete edit

Hello, Scrivener is not entirely obsolete as, for instance, there are still scriveners in some Arab countries including not limited to Iraq, Egypt and Sudan.--Abu aamir (talk) 10:40, 6 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
