Smallest? The article says: "Scolopendra cingulata is one of the smallest species in the family Scolopendridae". That's not true at all. It's one of the smallest species in the pet trade, but it's not a small species in general. This species is a small to middle sized species. Other European species in the Scolopendridae, such as S. canidens, S. dalmatica and S. oraniensis are smaller. S. cingulata species is the largest species in Europe.
As the article says "Scolopendridae", it means that it also refer to other genera than Scolopendra - it includes genera like Otostigmus, Alipes and many other genera which has several species that are much smaller than Scolopendra cingulata. Some of those species are less then half the size of S. cingulata, and there are many such small species all around the world.
