No, they are totally different and so deserve different pages. DineshAdv (talk) 00:01, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Suicide Doors? edit

I've never seen these doors referred to as such, and am only familiar with reversed hinged doors (1960's Lincoln) having doors that were referred to as "Suicide doors". Anyone? --70.247.191.88 (talk) 01:40, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is the correct name of these doors. For Suicide doors click here. DineshAdv (talk) 00:03, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Suicide doors are the ones that open backwards. They're called suicide as if you try to bail out, the door will catch, and drag you, severely injuring or killing you. I'd like to know who tf calls them "beetle-wing doors, turtles, switchblade doors". I've only ever heard them called Scissor, and Lamborghini doors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.55.176.90 (talk) 05:19, 18 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

powered edit

The article currently contains the horribly un-encyclopedic sentence. "Scissor doors can be powered and they usually are." I've never heard of powered scissor doors, but it's been a while since I was Lamborghini-crazy. Still I would bet that anything before Murcielago was not powered. At the least, the article should say since when powering the doors has become usual. Maybe name a few particular models. (Also it wouldn't hurt to include some citable sources for such claims) --BjKa (talk) 14:07, 16 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Two Sub-Types? edit

Are there two types of these; those that stay in plane and those that have a somewhat outward swing, such as the Smart Roadster? - KitchM (talk) 21:00, 14 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Butterfly doors swing up, and out a bit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.55.176.90 (talk) 05:15, 18 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
