Fair use rationale for Image:Scientologycross.jpg

Image:Scientologycross.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Usefulness

Isn't this article completely useless now that (along with many other symbols) the Scientology cross image has been deleted? AndroidCat (talk) 05:03, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

I have to agree - without the image, it's entirely pointless. I don't see why an image of the Scientology cross couldn't be justified as fair use on this page; but if it can't, there's really no point having the page at all. Terraxos (talk) 16:28, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Agreed, the article is unnecessary with the article Symbols of Scientology. Personal thoughts that filling wikipedia with articles about Scientology being silly aside. This article isn't necessary with another article covering it well enough, along with many others. I'll have a go at expanding this article over the next few days. We'll see then if it's suitable for merging back. I suspect not, since it would take up a disproportionate amount of space in its ostensible parent article. -- ChrisO (talk) 23:29, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
