Shouldn't this be verified--whether it is Asia's biggest olympiad or not? Guru-45 01:13, 8 September 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Guru-45 (talkcontribs)

Notability

This article raises some serious WP:NOTE issues. First of all, this so called "foundation" is a for profit organization which conducts Olympiads only on a country wide basis. The foundation has received (or bought itself) numerous coverage in the Indian media, so it might pass WP:NOTE. But the article itself is very self-promotional and written like an advert. Lastly this foundation is not associated with the HBCSE, which conducts and organizes the actual Olympiads. — westeros91 (talk) 11:14, 3 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

In India, many olympiads are conducted by a number of private organisations. SOF is prominent among these and its olympiads are quite popular among Indian students. The exams are conducted primarily in India. It is also conducted in the other countries (as listed on its website) although the number of exam centres and hence the number of participants is very low in other countries. (This is the reason the olympiads are referred to as 'international olympiads') 117.208.219.211 (talk) 15:38, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I have just edited this article shortening it by over 7000 bytes. We really don't need to provide all that information which is redundant for each exam. We don't need to give the names of the various certificates, such as Cyber Quotient, Science Quotient, and so on. Plus, everything in this article was sourced off sofworld.org site. I have removed with just a single ref to that site. 103.6.159.88 (talk) 06:57, 30 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Even after my edit, I feel that this article can be deleted if AfD'd. All news coverage focus primarily on individual students or regions that excelled in one of the Olympiads conducted by SOF. There seem to be no sources discussing or giving information about SOF itself. @DGG: What do you think? 103.6.159.88 (talk) 07:01, 30 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
The only way to find out is to nominate it and see. You will need to get an account first, or to use your regular account if you have one. (do not get a second account). DGG ( talk ) 19:15, 6 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
