Somebody keeps listing the prominence value as 950ft. I've been deleting it since they don't include a cite, but they keep putting it back. So I have included the correct prominence value, which is exactly 602 feet. The prominence is trivial to calculate in this case since there is higher land (Blue Knob, etc) nearby. The key saddle is at spot elevation 2348, at coordinates N 40.31257 W 78.57415. The topo map clearly shows that the 2340 contour encloses Blue Knob as well as Schaefer Head, so Schaefer Head's prominence cannot possibly be 950. The fact that somebody keeps posting 950ft shows that either 1) they don't understand the basic concepts of prominence or 2) they understand prominence but are simply vandalizing the page. 96.231.126.252 (talk) 12:00, 28 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
