Hi there, this is my first comment ever in Wikipedia, so forgive if I made a mistake. However, I noticed a heavy mistake in the introduction to this Article: The part "Schützen" of the name is translated with "to protect", which is not exactly correct. "To protect" in German is "schützen" with a small "s", but with a capital "S" (as in "Schützen") it translates to gunner or shooter, which also is the German meaning of that term. "Schützen" rifles?

I'm surprised to find no article on the distinctive "Schützen" rifles so often seen from the 19th century era. Not even a redirect or mention on the disambiguation page. I assume they are related to these organizations, because they were brought to the US by German immigrants. They are very distinctive, with single-shot barrels, fancy iron sights, and long metal prongs on the butt to help keep the gun located on the shoulder. They are fired standing, offhand, and I think maybe one handed, or with the left hand held very close to the firing hand, with a very short fore end and an exposed barrel. That would explain the need for the metal prongs to keep the gun held horizontal.
