comment from 2011 edit

How do scales grow? They don't come out of follicles like hair does, do they? Putting the question differently, do reptile and/or fish scales have the same evolutionary origin as mammalian hair? Mcswell (talk) 23:31, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry but I can't help you. Maybe try Wikipedia's Reference desk? --- c y m r u . l a s s (talk me, stalk me) 04:45, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

No mention of mammal scales? edit

How about some detailed info on mammal scales, like what we find on pangolins, armadillos, etc? -- Myrddin_Wyllt 2/25/13 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.64.210.28 (talk) 04:08, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Avian Scales edit

Apparently the scales found on birds are modified feathers: http://dinogoss.blogspot.ca/2013/09/youre-doing-it-wrong-dino-foot-scales.html 206.87.104.255 (talk) 17:17, 15 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
