La Loubère

edit

This is what La Loubère had to say in his book about his visit to Siam in the 1700s: "Les principaux sont de petits rebecs ou violons à trois cordes, qu'ils appellent Tro...""Les+principaux+sont+de+petits+rebecs+ou+violons+à+~+trois+cordes,+qu%27ils+appellent+Tro"&source=bl&ots=n4Q3b2ta-2&sig=sXUkrPZhUiumnyqp6dHvo9Wi6N4&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CB8Q6AEwAGoVChMI4sDcyaSAxwIVwtGACh3QKwnH#v=onepage&q=violons&f=false link

That is clearly not a saw u, it is a saw sam sai (similar to the tro Khmer. If you'd like to restore the text saying that La Loubère saw and wrote about the saw ou, please provide some evidence for it, as well as for the also-unsupported claim that the saw u existed in Siam in the 15th century. 173.89.236.187 (talk) 12:01, 29 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
