Article for deletion?

A new article, consisting of just two sentences and a single reference - which incidentally is to a Pinterest site! There is more information about this monument to be found in the some of pages that link to it, namely Iraqi art and Mohammed Ghani Hikmat. There is really no point in having a separate page for this monument, unless it is prepared to provide a more detailed discussion of the monument. Seriously, how do these articles (stubs) get passed the review stage?

Just two sentences, yet so many errors and omissions:

(Problems with article title?) The more usual translation of the monument's title is Saving Iraq's Culture.
(Major omission) The "cylindrical column of broken stone" is a reference to an ancient seal - and is an attempt by the sculptor to connect contemporary art with tradition and heritage.
(Major omission) The "group of arms" is actually five arms. The number, five, was selected by the artist for its religious significance. What is the interpretation given to the number five, and why was it important in thuis context?
(Major omission) What are the monument's dimensions?
(Major omission) When was the monument commissioned and when was it completed or inaugurated?
(Factual inconsistency) The category 2010 monuments in Baghdad is incorrect, the work was commissioned in very late 2010- early 2011 and inaugurated in 2013 after the sculptor's death. It wasn't even on the drawing board in 2010, so it is not appropriate to categorise it as a 2010 artwork.
(Major omission) What is notable about this monument? Why does it merit an article on Wikipedia?
(Factual inconsistency) Other details, (which appeared in a prior version), suggested that Ghani commissioned the sculpture (when in fact he was commissioned by the Mayor of Baghdad to construct the work) have already been corrected).

Why is the only reference for the image? I think we need references for the text, too, no? Hard to take any of what is written seriously when it has no source. Pure conjecture until fixed. 123.208.214.71 (talk) 06:43, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
