Addition
editAdded their new store in New Westminster, BC to the listing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.71.31.191 (talk) 01:24, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Merge
editThis is a total mess right now. I merged the contents from Save-on Foods and Save-on-Foods to this article, as obviously one grocery store doesn't require three articles. 24.139.30.75 08:49, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
Should add the merger with "Slave-On-Foods" for its advocacy in reducing minimum work hours from four to two. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.156.59.192 (talk) 07:53, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Page move request
editPage was created with a grammatically incorrect title (Save-On-Foods). The company does not use that title. The more appropriate title should be Save-On. Wikipedianinthehouse
- Um, on their website, when text (ie not their logo), they always use "Save-On-Foods"[1]. That's also how other sites refer to them.[2][3] Niteowlneils 23:38, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
- The company always uses "Save On Foods," and never "Save On." I know this as I am an employee. All internal communications refer to it as Save On Foods, and the only abbreviation ever used is "SOF".Claude.Xanadu 05:12, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
It was requested that this article be renamed but there was no consensus for it be moved. Dragons flight 21:21, August 29, 2005 (UTC)
Year of chain founding inaccurate
editIt is claimed in the main article that the Save-On-Foods chain was founded in 1915, but this is not true. It was actually the Overwaitea chain that was founded in 1915, while the first stores to open under the Save-On-Foods name opened in 1982 in the Greater Vancouver area.[4] The founding date for Save-On-Foods should be changed to reflect this.
