Cite error included ref

edit

Can someone cleverer than me fix the tag closing error in the Bill Burr/Jack White episode recap? It looks to me like the citation does have a closing tag, but the rest of the chart is ruined anyway.Bjones (talk) 01:48, 26 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Joe Biden Portrayal Beginning December 19, 2020

edit

Hello again, everyone! By now, sourced content in this article has provided verification that Jim Carrey is done portraying Joe Biden. This SNL article has since been updated to note that Alex Moffat would portray Joe Biden going forward, starting with tonight's episode. But insofar as I am aware, we don't have sourced verification of that. So I wanted to post here to inquire if we need to be worried about implying something that has not yet been confirmed? I would think it would be wiser to not go beyond what the sources say. And since no sources have confirmed Moffat's impersonation of Biden will be anything more than a one-off stint, what is the best way to handle this information? My gut feeling would be to wait one way or the other until a cited source provides more information. Thoughts? --Jgstokes (talk) 04:48, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Re-scheduled Appearance

edit

Is it worth noting that Dua Lipa was originally supposed to appear in a Season 45 episode with John Krasinski that got canceled? I feel that is notable since she still ended up in a 2020 episode, albeit during the next season. JoeMT615 (talk) 22:56, 14 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Elon Musk

edit

Dan Aykroyd apparently didn't speak of having had Asperger syndrome until 2004.

We can't expect Elon Musk to add a bunch of footnotes when doing a comedy skit.--2601:C4:C300:1BD0:D18A:196C:F98A:9CC5 (talk) 21:09, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Lauren Holt being mentioned along with Beck Bennett.

edit

I’m the Cast section, it says “This is the final season for cast member Beck Bennett.” Then mentions later that season 46 was Lauren Holt’s only season. I’m requesting that it should say “This was the final season for cast members Beck Bennett and Lauren Holt.” Blu30Top (talk) 10:30, 13 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, Blu30Top for finally doing what I requested and starting a talk page discussion on this. Here is the issue I'm seeing: Luke Null was only a featured player on SNL for only one season (season 43, to be exact. Your preferred wording relating to Lauren Holt lacks verification from a reliable source, and even if you did cite a source, styllistically, the Luke Null example, for which the wording on his only season was approved by prior consensus, does not in any way match the wording you wanted to use in reference to Lauren Holt. Styllistically, my reverts of your preferred wording more fully align with the wording previously-approved for mentions of Luke Null in season 43. By extension, that's also the case for one-season case member Jon Rudnitsky, whose one-season participation in the cast more fully aligns with the previous wording that you keep reverting.
So there is on my end a concern about maintaining styllistic consistency. Blu30Top, if you find a source supporting your wording, we would then have a citation-based rationale for unifying the language relating to one-seasn featured players in the way you seem to prefer. In the meantime, while discussion of your proposal is underway, the previous reverts of your preferred wording needs to be reverted again, and I'd caution you very firmly to not revert the wording again unless and until it has consensus support. Any attempts to do so will constitute Wikipedia violations relating to editing etiquette, not assuming good faith, and violating the consensus principle that until there is agreement to do so, your wording should not be used. That being said, if you are wlling to address the concerns expressed by myself and Binksternent, we can then look over any evidence you provide and then consider restoring the wording you preferred or leaving things as they are, based on the new consensus on this matter. Thanks. --Jgstokes (talk) 21:19, 14 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
