Change name

Actually, her stage name was spelled Sandée, not Sandeé, so I think it should be change. Look at iTunes or most of her record covers to see the correct spelling. :)

Obituary source is suspect

The site cited for the supposed obituary of Sandeé is suspect. Is it possible that it could be for a person with the same name? There is no mention of her singing career. A famous person—no matter how famous—has an extensive biography as part of his/her obituary. No other obituaries from acceptable sources could be found, either. This a bio on a deceased recording artist formerly recorded for Columbia Records now Sony Music and on Arista Records as a original member of the Grammy nominated music group Expose.

Sandee had a string of Billboard Dance hits back in the late eighties and early nineties. Her biggest hit was the C&C Music Factory hit "Notice Me". All the tracks she had recorded can be found here:

Sorry to hear about Sandee. However, Wikipedia is not a memorial site. A memorial page for Sandee is better suited to a social networking site like MySpace or Bebo. In order to maintain a certain consistent level of quality, Wikipedia has standards for what sort of information is suitable for inclusion and what topics are worthy of an article. Please refer in particular to the policies on notability of musical artists and verifiability of information. Please understand that this shouldn't be taken as an insult or an impugnment of the departed's legacy, such as it is; it's just the way we do business around here.

Lastly, you can't cite a discography as a list of "hits". Not every single ever released is a "hit", or I'd have my own Wikipedia article as well. tgies (talk) 13:02, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

Is there a reliable source that can confirm her death? I haven't found one, only the official website (which doesn't have the most professional look) and the blog, along with a request for donation and a request to publish that eulogy + donation request elsewhere.
I've removed the info that the good lady is dead for now, until someone can produce a source to confim it.

Her real name was Sandra Tola Harvey. Her obituary is listed in the Florida Sun-Sentinel, the obituary published on December 18th, 2008. This event is being discussed in several areas, including a site dedicated to Freestyle artists. Here are some links.

Assumption of good faith goes a long way here, but biographies of living persons need special care. We've incorrectly called people dead and worse before, so there is now a very stringent policy concerning such articles – an assumption of good faith is not enough with libelous or potentially hurtful facts. If you're interested in some background, read the article on the Seigenthaler incident.
Be that as it may, those blog and forum posts aren't reliable, but I found the obituary at the Sun-Sentinel and added it to the article.
