Regarding proposed move to sandbox edit

  • Leave as is: Sandbox was deliberately left as a nonarticle (as a redir) because 95% or more of the edits made to it were people mistakenly (and/or stupidly and/or maliciously) using it as the Wikipedia Sandbox. Originally sandpit was at sandbox, but it got moved to sandpit and the redir created to try to make it clearer to people that that was not a sandbox to play in. Checking this page's history and that of sandpit, it's clear that this strategy has worked. I strongly recommend leaving everything the way it is.. Elf | Talk 15:51, 1 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

W? edit

Someone suggested that I might be interested in this article? Why do you suppose that was?--Q1werty was here 15:47, 8 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Nitpicky, but... edit

OK, in the computer security aspect of "sandbox" the word "untrusted" is used. Technically, is this even a word? I have seen this word other places, particularly in computer science context, but I am not convinced that its use is proper. Correct words might be "distrusted" or "untrustworthy".

I am interested in comments. --Lenehey 21:32, 10 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

"distrusted", "untrustworthy", etc. imply that an entity is (likely to be) actively malicious; "distrusted" implies that trust is actively withheld. "untrusted" indicates that trust is simply not granted. Remember that "trust" has a particular meaning in security science: see Trusted_computing#The_nature_of_trust. 80.192.83.27 00:38, 15 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Malplaced disambiguation page edit

Suggested this at Talk:Sandbox and was directed here: The current redirect of Sandbox to Sandbox (disambiguation) results in a Malplaced disambiguation page. Please move Sandbox (disambiguation) here (and protect it as needed) or update the redirect back to Sandpit. -- JHunterJ 16:46, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
