Talk:San Jose, Romblon

I am so glad you have this history about my hometown. I felt proud of what you did, digging into the past painstakingly(the archives) and telling the world about it. It was the brother,(Braulio Sungcang)of my grandfather,(Saturnino Sungcang) who became the first "Capitan del Barrio" as representative Hambil, when the municipality was still under the administration of Sta. Fe. After that Prudencio Umambong, became the first mayor when it became a town. Then Leonito Sungcang, my uncle (still alive), became the second mayor. The incumbent mayor now is Filipino Tandog, my second cousin serving for the fourth time.

I agree with you and I am telling this to everyone in Hambil that it should be renamed back as Hambil because of its unique name before the construction of international airport finishes.

Moreover, my friends in Hong Kong know this island as Hambil as I introduced it to them when I brought the youth team for a misson trip in 1997 and another one in 2007. They came to bless the islanders by planting trees, cleaning up the beach and ministering to the "atis or itas". The team also gave feeding to the children in Tipokpok last year.

I also hope and pray that the present administration will manage the improvement very well so that the mistakes happened to Boracay would not be duplicated in Hambil. I also pray that the locals who live there will be benefitted first before many others. Thank you. kaloiranario ````
