What is going on? Nearly 50% of this article prattles on about the San Antonio Evening Light, its owners, its mergers, its name changes, its circulation numbers, its content, its marketing plan, and on and on. Material regarding the Light has been here, with this full amount of detail, since the article was created 19-years-ago (was over 50% of this article at that time).

There are also four redirects from Light-related titles to this Express-News article: San Antonio Light; The San Antonio Light; The San Antonio Light and Gazette; and The San Antonio Gazette.

If the San Antonio Evening Light is so important, should it not have its own article?

Or, if the rivalry is so important, should it not have its own article, similar to Cola wars, which covers the multi-billion dollar Coca-Cola versus Pepsi rivalry?

Otherwise, the Light is simply a parasite on this article, like Cuscuta (except the dodder kills, not the other way around), given the volume of detail - unless this article should be renamed San Antonio Express-News and its competitor that disappeared 33-years-ago (and counting).
