Panels or substrates?

The "90,000 panel monthly capacity" sounds small, considering the global sales of Samsung and Sony. Fujitsu-Siemensis also using S-LCD panels in their Myrica line; I would estimate that they alone may sell over 90,000 panels a month (in differents sizes). It seems more likely the 90,000 figure refers to the number of 2,200 mm × 2,500 mm substrates produced. -- Petri Krohn 13:13, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Remember this plant is only producing 8th generation LCD panels now that they have retooled from 7G. Therefore by definition 8G implies a 52" LCD substrate or larger.

worldwide only 3 manufacturers of LCD panels

AFAIK there are exactly three manufacturers of LCD panels worldwide and S-LCD is one of them. Compared to the number of car manufacturers this is noteworthy! User:ScotXW^t@lk 16:32, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Not correct. At least, Japan Display Inc. is one more manufacturer. Sharp has been acquired by Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry, Taiwan)--BBCLCD (talk) 10:23, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

Inaccuracies

First, Samsung Electronics bought out Sony's stake in S-LCD as seen in https://www.engadget.com/2012-07-02-samsung-merges-s-lcd-and-mobile-display-units-under-samsung-disp.html, and also merged its mobile display unit into S-LCD to form Samsung Display. Second, Samsung Display quit making LCDs and is all OLED now according to https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1662535408 .
