Moon mapping

There are pictures of the moon mapping done before the moon landings and the photo of the mechanism of the dry film development process similar to Polaroid, with which Dr. Land had been also involved, and the question is: how much of the technology did the moon mapping satellites share with SAMOS or, was it just a successful redevelopment of the SAMOS mapping technology?
