Effective date

The article currently says that the same-sex marriage law takes effect on 1 January 2009. Can anyone provide a reference for that? -Rrius (talk) 22:18, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Limitations

New address and/or Reordering

Now that full marriage is being extended in Norway I think that the article should lead with the announcement of this change in law. With the article announcing a civil union first it appears dated and signifies that it's of greater importance. At the very least the address should change from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recognition_of_same-sex_unions_in_Norway] to [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recognition_of_same-sex_marriages_in_Norway] seeing as a redirect is clumsy and outdated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vlsi0n (talk • contribs) 00:25, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

More equality needed

Since 1 January 2009, Norway has SSM, what about adoption, surrogacy, IVF, fertility and blood donation rights? What does Norways laws say about these? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.38.9 (talk) 05:30, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Adoption and artificial insemination including IVF are both legal with the new marriage laws. Not sure what you mean by "fertility". Surrogacy in general, and blood donation for MSMs are not legal, and AFAIK no political parties have these issues on their agendas. However, no blood donation for MSMs is arguably an issue of medical risk evaluation and not of discrimination, as long as MSMs factually are at higher risk of contracting STIs. The rules are the same for other higher-risk groups as well, such as IV drug users and people who've recently changed sex partners or visited a number of 3rd world countries. -- SLB (no) 19:34, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
