Sally Perdue affair and date discrepancies

I removed the line "Sally Perdue's claims were discredited [because she said the alleged affair occurred during her divorce in 1983, when she actually started divorce proceedings years later]" I think this statement is an unwarranted judgment and definitely POV. Just because she got the dates wrong doesn't mean there was no affair; for example, she could have gone through marital difficulties in 1983, up to but not including the actual filing of divorce papers. A bit of history regarding recent edits to this article is probably in order. I came to the page as part of the animosity being displayed by User:Kevin j, who has since been blocked (along with a couple of socks). Eventually the page had to be protected as well. Before I saw it, it looked like this and I made an attempt to clean it up.

I generally agree with the coatrack designation and support the idea of someone else coming in and cleaning it up further. (I'd do it but would like to see a different perspective jumping in a bit too, especially given that I did get dragged into the sockdrama a bit.)  Frank  |  talk  22:18, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Eh. I've removed the coatrack designation. There's no serious problem here since Perdue's notability, if she is notable, clearly comes from these events. If one thinks she isn't notable then we should have an AfD. JoshuaZ (talk) 22:28, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

I think the coatrack designation applied to defamation of Clinton, not Perdue. The supposed "coatrack" in this case is a place to hang things that impugn Clinton's reputation, rather than Perdue's.  Frank  |  talk  01:13, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Ah I see I think. But given that Perdue is notable primarily for her connection to these scandals, how is it a coatrack to list other similar cases? (Actually, looking at how many there are, I'm almost inclined to make a category for women who have claimed to, or have been accused of having sexual relations with Clinton but such a category would probably get CfDed pretty quickly).
