Have added identification of the legal cases, and included it in the categories of United States slavery case law and Freedom suits - may include it in the latter article, as this case is based on different grounds than some, and certainly highlights the ambiguous issues related to ethnic ancestry of slaves in the South. People were uncomfortable because it highlighted the prevalence of interracial relationships resulting in "white" slaves.Parkwells (talk) 17:50, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

AFAIK (and according to Bailey) there are no known actual pictures of this article's subject. Thanks for adding that. We'll have to include it in the article, already dealing with a complex story - a way of showing the persistence of ethnic over national identification in many areas, for good reason, when associated with language, culture, etc.Parkwells (talk) 17:47, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Delete long quote

I recommend deleting the long quote from the Law Reporter, taken from the Crafts' slave narrative, as it is not dated or otherwise identified. It is a primary source, as it's a contemporary news account. There is better material in standard reliable secondary sources, which would be better used for this article, per WIKI Policy on sources. Support I looked for about 20 minutes for another Sally Miller that may be of note to justify keeping this and couldn't find one.
