I find the map awfully confusing. The big map with the red dot in it is presumably a map of the district of Colombia that contains Salento, with the red dot marking the spot; the little map appears to be the whole of Colombia. Presumably the green dot on the little map marks the spot; but the region containing the green dot isn't the same shape as the shape on the big map. In fact no region on the small map resembles the shape of the big map. Is there a mistake? MrDemeanour (talk) 08:46, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- The "large map" is the department of Quindio ("department" being the equivalent of "state" in the USA or "county" in the UK), divided into its individual municipalities, and the dots represent the location of the towns that are the urban centres of those municipalities - in this case Salento is the municipality in the north-east of the department, as shown in dark grey, and the town of Salento itself within the municipality is the location of the red dot. The "green dot" on the smaller map of Colombia to the bottom right is supposed to be the whole of the department of Quindio, showing its location in Colombia - the problem is that the department of Quindio is the smallest in mainland Colombia, hence on the map of the country it appears to be just a small green dot. Actually if you look closely it's not a circular dot, but is meant to be the same shape as the bigger map.
