Staff edit

Does a congressman receive public fund for paying their staff? Or they have to spend money from their pockets to hire staff? Thanks --162.114.4.70 (talk) 16:42, 1 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

This was archived, but the issue has not been addressed:

This page could use an additional paragraph explaining whether or not the people serving had staff, :and whether or not staff salaries were paid out of these salaries.AbbottDeborah (talk) 15:50, 9 August 2011 (UTC)AbbottDeborah — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.167.209.236 (talk) Reply

The PDF says the Representatives' MRA averages around $1,268,520, for their other costs, including franked mail, staff, etc. Senators have access to the SOPOEA - FY2017 legislative branch appropriations bill shows a range of $3,043,454 to $4,815,203. The average allowance is $3,306,570.

Schedule 6 edit

Are Senators considered members of the House of Representatives? As there is no separate salaries listed for baseline Senators in schedule 6, as there are for baseline Representatives.

According to the PDF listed above, both Senators and Representatives (if I'm reading correctly), who don't have special job functions, get paid the same.

Clarification Needed edit

What do the numbers in parenthesis in the Year column indicate? Example: 1934 (2/1) and 1934 (7/1) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.26.13.151 (talk) 19:51, 6 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

It is the date the pay raise took effect, I believe. In other words, 1934 (February 1) and 1934 (July 1). —Salton Finneger (talk) 13:14, 4 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
