Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, QuebecSalaberry-de-Valleyfield — The main article title is proposing to rename and move to Salaberry-de-Valleyfield to match Canadian city related titles without including the province name. For example Montreal, Quebec City, Longueuil, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, Gatineau, Drummondville, Victoriaville, Matane, Rimouski, Rivière-du-Loup, Rouyn-Noranda, Val-d'Or and Thetford Mines all have titles without including the province name. There is no other cities for Salaberry-de-Valleyfield in the world. And this is one of the other largest cities in Quebec. - Steam5 (talk) 22:21, 28 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Support; name is unique. Places in Quebec do have a nice little tendency to disambiguate themselves with long hyphenated string names. Bearcat (talk) 06:10, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. The move is consistent with the applicable naming convention, WP:CANSTYLE, and with WP:PRIMARYUSAGE. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 12:15, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - there's no need to use a provincial disambiguator since the name is unique, consistent with the policies cited above. Mindmatrix 13:02, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. Good catch. Andrewa (talk) 13:23, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
