Because Saini community is very much different from Mali community[1], they both are registered separately in the census of 1881, and can be seen in second column where saini mention in last of second column[2] and so on. Also the Mali was included under the Rajput sub-category in the 1891 State Census Report for Marwar.[3]

Various sources are available for the population of Sainis in different regions that should be added in the Article.

1. Haryana - Sainis make around 8% of the state population and having sizeable presence in various districts.[1][2]

2. Jammu & Kashmir - In Jammu, the community comprises a population of 60000-75000 in numbers.[3][4]

Castes similar to Sainis in north India are Koeri, Kushwaha, Maurya and Shakya.
