Sahlgren

I think in English the hospital should be called Sahlgren instead of Sahlgrenska - it seems more correct to me. Could anyone with a proficient command of Swedish and English second this? Axt (talk) 22:41, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

From a strictly linguistic standpoint you're probably right. However, for proper names, it is common to translate the descriptive words and leave the rest as it is, rather than trying to do a grammatic back-tracking. Thus, Karolinska Institute (also ending in -ska) is a well-established name, rather than Karolinian Institute or Caroline Institute or something else. Tomas e (talk) 18:43, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

I have to agree with Thomas. It should be as "Sahlgrenska Hospital", even if it is incorrect grammatically. Many people here refer to the hospital as Sahlgrenska when speaking english. Even phonetically it sounds better this way. I will go on and change it back. Norum (talk) 22:29, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
